You didn’t mention that Hamburg have also agreed to allow their fans to sacrifice one academy player at the beginning of each season on the pitch. Club spokesman was said to have said “The fans want it. The fans get it. It’s only one player a year who has to be killed. I’m sure it’s for the good of the team as the gods will be happy and it also keeps our more fanatical fans happy”.

{Ed001's Note - the thing is, the only reason they have applied for permission to allow the pyro is because of the huge amount of fines they have been given due to the fans doing it anyway. Personally I hate the pyros, just annoying and gets in the way of actually trying to see the game. I don't want to watch the crowd displays, those tifos etc, I couldn't give a toss about those. It is the football I am interested in and you can't see that when there is shedloads of smoke billowing everywhere!}
