Hi Ed2 hope you are keeping well. Quick question for you. I'm assuming that the UK based directors made this furlough decision. Do you feel that FSG, as the poor press coverage will effect the Liverpool brand and therefore value, will come out with a statement to reverse what they have done or try to repair it in a different way ie big donation to NHS etc?

{Ed002's Note - It became evident on Friday afternoon that Liverpool were going to do this - I know who the two people involved in the UK are but I have no idea who they consulted. Clubs obviously don't want backlash or poor press coverage but I don't know if they will go back on their decision given that a request would have already been made for an HMG contribution and I really don't know of any plans that the blub has to make "a big donation to the NHS". They could easily end up as even more of a laughing stock if they started doing such things.}

Ed02, I hope they go back on the decision cos right now, it is a PR disaster.

{Ed002's Note - It would be a great deal of embarrassment to do so - I imagine they will ride it out for the coming days. It is such a bizarre move that was estimated to save the club about £1M to £2M or so if the situation is sorted out by the end of June.}

I see no issue at all in the club putting its hands up and admitting it's made a mistake and rectifying their error.

Look in the mirror before you look out the window, is a motto we can all use.
