Ed001, what part of the game do you think is most important, defence or offense?

{Ed001's Note - balance I think is most important. To get the balance between the two just right.}

Would u rather have a team that scores a lot but also concede alot, or a team that doesn't score many but doesn't concede many also? What do u think about the saying titles r won on defences?

Imo, if u don't concede u don't lose. So I'd go with a better defensive team personally.

As a defender myself, there was a moment in the Leicester away match this season where we lost the ball, and immediately the whole team snapped into a solid defensive shape so there was nowhere for them to go and I almost cried.

If you consider the few times since 1990 that we've actually come close to winning the league, it was our defense that cost us. When Suarez and sturridge were scoring for fun, it was out goals against tally that cost us.
I know it's not as straightforward as that, but look at this year when our defensive record has been great, city have scored more but are nowhere near us. Hence why I think VVD is our most important player.

the beauty of a good defence is it allows you much more freedom and confidence to attack eg ManU in their heyday were able to take much more risks in attack because they could rely upon the defence to bail them out. But if your defence relies upon numbers (eg Simeone) then your attack has issues.

I’d like to see an extra point given to any team that scores three or more goals in a match. Or perhaps 4pts for a win, 2 for a score draw and 1 for a nil-nil. Anything which encourages attacking football without changing the fundamentals of the game.
