Ed's can I ask a question about the Garcia injury tonight.

Can Ederson be punished for extreme dangerous play against his own player. If he had done that to an arsenal player it would have been a definite straight red for serious dangerous play, but as he has nearly taken the head off his own player he has no action against him.

He is so reckless at times when he comes flying out. Its not the first time he has injured someone else either.

And I really hope it's nothing serious for Garcia!

{Ed002's Note - You can be punished for dangerous play against a player on the same team, but it is rare. I recall an attempt by a player to hack down a winger who ended up hitting his own player as the winger was too quick and he was sent off.}

Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer were sent off after fighting with each other during a 3-0 loss to Aston Villa at St James' Park.

Thanks for the reply.

Surely he has to get a ban for that, it's totally reckless and he could end up seriously hurting someone unless he changed his ways.

How and why should Ederson be banned? It's a highly physical and competitive sport. And where's the intent? Did Ederson really intend for his own team mate to end up in the hospital? I can see how it could be viewed if it had been with an opposing team's player, but not in this situation. Simply an unintended collision. Nowhere near like what Bowyer and Dyer were trying to do to each other.

And who can forget Bowyer Vs Dyer.

That Ederson is a true head case. He is erratic, hot headed and has very poor or should I say decision -making that is hazardous to one’s health.

The way he came out last night, the poor boy Garcia had no chance to protect himself cis he didn’t even see Ederson coming at him, putting his safety at risk. Dreadful/ Dangerous play, IMO.

ArAy If you think there is no intent there you obviously have not seen the incident. Ok he came out to head the ball but leads with both fists clenched at head height, at speed and with both feet off the ground. It was totally reckless and out of control.

It may be a physical sport but that is bang out of order.
