Remember when we used to routinely beat the top 4 teams whilst finishing 5th, 6th, 7th . . .

Today's results are the perfect reflection of why we are the Champions this season.

Now, in saying that, I do hope we can strengthen the team as I can't see this peak level of performances AND results being maintained foe a 3rd season in a row! Would be amazing if it did tho!

Everyone was freaking out about the City game last week but we only play them 2 times per season. They are a good team that can give anyone a hiding on their day, what matters more is consistency over a 38 game season.

Even the worst Liverpool teams of the past 30 years could hold their own against the best teams of the day, we always gave United, Arsenal or Chelsea a good game. The difference is we would then follow that up by losing to Coventry, Barnsley or Oldham.

This Liverpool team has the ability to grind out wins even when they are playing badly, no other team in the league can do that. As long as we keep this team together I see no reason why we can’t do this again next season, however if we want to win multiple trophies each season I think we need to strengthen.

I just see a team that mentally are not firing on all cylinders. They are League Champions, first time in 30 years, got the job done and are now just lacking the desire to finish off the last few games.

If they needed the points you would see a different team with more intensity. I dare say if they were trying to go unbeaten they might go the extra yard and get the job done.

For me you will see a different team at the start of next season and yes a new signing or 2 would freshen the squad up. Shaq has to be replaced in my opinion.

Spot on, OP. Irish Rover, I agree with you as well. This team looks mentally drained and frankly who can blame them. They have been at this relentless level arguably since the start of the 17/ 18 season so it is only normal that after reaching the goal of winning two of the biggest trophies in club football as in the CL and PL, it is only normal to see some sub-conscious mental drop-off, even tho they are trying their best clearly.

I did not care for the City game cos it mad no diff. even tho, I wanted us to show up and show out to try to win the game but we played well enuff to get beat 4-0 so we take that on the chin and move on. Whether we can bring players in is still to be seen so let's see what happens.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The most that city can do is take 6 points off you, forget them and concentrate on your own performance, they can’t stop us winning the other 36 games.

Suddenly remember this one season (it was Rafa I think), beat United, hammered Real, and yet didn't win anything. You know which one I prefer.

Right Haizan.

And Utd ground a key win out of a poor performance against Villa thanks to a guy who's now playing in Greece digging a shot out whilst he was falling over. Don't think many of their fans minded that they struggled past Villa whilst we smacked Villa 5-0 in the same month.
