Hoping for a solid performance from neco Williams I'm assuming at left back. If he can get a good few games in that position he can be the perfect understudy for both flanks. Saving us a nice few mill for this replacement left back.

For me there is no future in a right footed player playing at left back.

Yes Williams will be on the left since TAA is also in the team sheet. Unless Klopp decides to interchange them.

Philip lahm, Denis Irwin, maldini, zambrotta, zanetti weren't half bad at LB though were they.

That is true youngred but it's not hard to picture lahm or zambrotta being well suited to fit into our team.

I'm not disagreeing with the OP I just don't think it's impossible to see players in the future who might succeed in that role. As a young back up option anyway I would have no issue if neco could do a job on occasion when needed on the left.
