Thiago is primarily seen as a defensive midfielder but I don't think hell play there for us.

I think he and Fabinho will work largely like mascherano and Alonso did. With Fabinho doing the mopping up and then feeding to thiago who can either use his (underrated) close control or excellent range of passing to create chances.

I also think it will likely mean Bobby doesn't need to drop quite so deep since he's good at finding space and thiago is very good at identifying spade to pass into.

Personal opinion but I think it will lead to Bobby scoring more this season.

You have a point but if bobby isn't dropping deep then he is expected to score which he doesn't. If he doesn't drop deep then Salah isn't coming inside either. That means we need a Lewandowski up top to finish all those chances.
There is only one real weakness in Bobby which is his composure in front of the goal.

{Ed001's Note - why do we need a Lewandowski when we have Salah?}

coz I want salah to do what Robben did so well for Chelsea. I want him to play on the right and come inside. I don't want him to spend all evening up top between the legs of two center backs.
A a good portion of Bobby's job is stolen by Thiago. Good for us but not good for him.

Harry, Salah plays that position so well as Mane does due to Bobby's amazing ability to facilitate and draw CB's out to create space. We have won the lot with this system and those players so why change it drastically just to please some people's fantasies?

What Salah is doing now seems to be working pretty well so far though.

Harry you say if Bobby isn't dropping deep he'll be expected to score but he doesn't but that's BECAUSE he's dropping deep.

If you compare his heat maps over the last few seasons he has progressively gotten deeper.

There's nothing wrong with his finishing, he may miss some easy chances but so do mane and salah. So does literally every player. There's only a select few who are deadly almost all the time (Batistuta, Brazilian Ronaldo and fowler off top of my head) and who need one chance to score from improbably positions.

You want Salah to play like Robben did at Chelsea? Robben scored 19 goals in over 100 games for Chelsea, Salah scores more than that in one season.

Teams (except City and Leeds) are playing really really deep against us now with 11 men behind the ball which gives us literally half a pitch for 21 players to play in. With teams playing this way it’s harder for Bobby to create space for Mo and Mane to run into as it’s so jammed packed. What I expect from Thiago is his ability to find holes and passes that other players can’t see or perform. We are actually at One of our most dangerous when we are defending a corner as we literally have the whole pitch to break into and half the opposition players are in our box.

Nevada

You did not read it fully. Bobby's role is a free role. You draw a circle around him then it touches the center half and the opposition 6-yard box. He is not a goal scorer. that is not why we play him. If you want someone at the end of a delightful pass then sorry that is not ROBERTO FIRMINO.

Who says Bobbie plays a free role? Also, we already have Salah, Mane and any of of our ACM's (Gini included) to get on the end of things so again and we have been super successfully, your beef with Bobbie is unfounded.
