The only difference between Shaqiri and James Rodriguez is that the former is not liked by the manager. Shaqiri ooozes in class. He is no winger. such a lovely player in the hole. Good first touch, neat passing very in tellegent reading the game.

{Ed025's Note - oh yeah i forgot harry, because after all shaq has won a world cup golden boot and played for 2 of the biggest clubs on the planet winning numerous titles...come on mate get a grip..

Not like Shaqiri has suffered a load of injuries which drastically reduced the amount of appearances he would've made for us, right? Or were all his injuries caused during arguments with Klopp?

In fairness Ed025, Shaqiri has also passed that litmus test for the foreign footballer of being able to play well on a freezing cold grim evening in Stoke (see also Burnley, Middlesbrough etc), if Rodriguez is still playing well when the weather turns grim, he’ll do alright. I think there is still a suspicion he could do a DiMaria, in that he looked a great signing in late summer early autumn when the weather was nice, but once it started raining and going cold, he didn’t fancy it one bit.

{Ed025's Note - you cant judge him yet though 6times, if that does come to pass then you may have a point mate but lets just see how things play out mate..

You can’t compare Shaq with Rodriguez. Over the last few Seasons Shaq hasn’t been picked because he’s always been injured. Rodriguez want picked because he wasn’t deemed good enough 👀🎣.

{Ed025's Note - the only sensible thing i get from that is that you cant compare the two JK, shaq is behind origi in the pecking order for christs sake which telly you everything you need to know mate..

To be fair Ed, he's played for bayern and Liverpool, THE 2 best teams on the planet right now. Admittedly, he hasn't played much, but either has James these last 2 seasons.

{Ed025's Note - he was a decent player at one time rugby but hes shot now mate, a cameo appearance against the lower lights is about his limit i would say..

Get in there Tyrion 👍🏻
We all know that Ed025 will soon come to rue the mention of the name James 🤣.

{Ed025's Note - oh sit down.. :)

ed025 I would sell Shaq but he has played for Bayern Inter and Liverpool. In 3 years at Bayern he did win 3 Bundesliga's I don't know about cups and the Champions League. He as won the Champions League and premier league with us. And as for the world cup El-Hadji Diouf looked good. lol
Only time will tell with how good James Rodriguez but I don't know why people all ways have to compare players ed I see one the other day who was best Peter Beardsley or Glen Hoddle who asks this S***.
Good luck for the season anyway ed I would love to go back to the mid 80s where we are both fighting it out.
YNWA.

{Ed025's Note - so would i grino mate..

Ed0025 only winding you up mate. Rodriguez can be a wonderful player on his day. Over the last few seasons there seems to have been less and less of those days. He’s started well with you boys and his challenge now is to continue this form. I like Shaq but injuries have really disrupted him the last few seasons and he’s a very good square peg in a team with round holes. What I mean is I think he’s a good player but he doesn’t really fit into or replace anyone in our system. Can’t offer what the front 3 do and although he has quality on the ball his body isn’t up to working as hard as Klopp wants the midfield 3 to. But saying that he offers a good option from the bench or a plan b.

Both players in term of style and positions they like are actually very similar if both were fit and consistently playing to their best. I'm not going to make pointless comparisons but on their day both can be capable of magic. Shaqiri has lit up the world cup in his career also, scoring worldies and being one of the challengers for top scorer. If you look at James over the last 2 seasons he would not have likely been a success for Liverpool. Shaqiri actually would be a player who I'd see being a good fit for Everton like Rodriguez is showing to be. They've been crying out for that creativity from a wide attacker for a while now. Their struggles with form and consistency for a few seasons seem to mirror how Erikson and ozil have lost their ability to be lethal playmakers when playing with confidence.

"oh sit down" best reply ever ed025! Very good.

Shaq has played for some big clubs too. As nd has played in a weaker national team than Rodriguez.

It might of only been Lincoln but it wasn't long ago that shaq was doing the business against Barcelona.

I think james will probably thrive being the main man, and he has solid players around him to look after him. Away on a Wednesday evening at turf Moor in January? We'll see. I wouldn't bet against him being a success and earning another big move (only joking)

{Ed025's Note - time will tell i suppose robbie..
