How poison is that live chat on days like this? lol wow!

After tonight we should sell Trent, Gomez, Keita, Bobby and sack Klopp! Some of the so called 'fans' on there should hang their heads in shame.

There was nothing good about that game, I get that and what I would say is Keita shouldn't play for us again but these things happen, just terrible when it does but it's not going to ruin my night, it's one game! onto the next.

Bring Everton on.

Nice one salah. They're not real fans, real fans are known as "supporters" and don't just support the team when supporting is easy.

I'd say our team needs our support right now. I don't know what happened. I can't really work out how we got pasted like that! I think it has something to do with the lack of fans. And our midfield was so poor. And villa were great. Grealish looked good and so did barkley tbf and mcginn.

Salah mate, there's about 4 guys in that chat who appear to be on this site for no reason other than to bash players. I never see them post on the main site and their positive utterances in chat are outweighed by negative ones at a ratio of about 10:1.

It's hard to judge people for criticising players on a day like today as we were clearly abject and there's plenty of blame to go around for it. But there's regular slating of players in Live Chat for misplacing a couple of passes during routine wins. We hammered 'other' Liverpool fans for online abuse of Neco Williams a week ago, but maybe we need to look at what we're tolerating on here? I appreciate that the players don't read our Live Chat logs, but it's part of an overall contribution to toxic online football fan culture where people think it's acceptable to personally abuse players.

I also really wonder how these people functioned when Hodgson was the manager. Or when Rodgers' or Rafa's reigns were on the downspiral.

We were crap, Villa were at it, our keeper made a howler and their shots kept hitting our players and going in! It’s one of those things, only 3 points were at stake. With the lack of rest and preparation time for all teams, I think we’ll see a lot of strange things, look at the number of goals scored this weekend alone.

What I will say is - we won't win the league if we play like that. We haven't been the same for quite a while now, not sure what's wrong. If we can lose 7 2 to villa we can lose to anny team in the league. Others will have faith now that they can beat us.

It's been very odd since the restart, not just us.

Salah only thing I disagree with you from looking at that game is that Keita should never play for us again. Not getting into it about Keita again but for me, watching that game he was no worse than a lot of the players and I think it's your previous opinion of him and anger which is making you say that. The reality is it was a horrible night, this team deserves the trust and opportunity to correct it nd they will because I still think they are the best. What I will say though is that Smith showed other teams weaknesses that can be exploited, and don't be surprised to see other teams follow suit.

Well played Villa, they made the most of an abject Reds performance and we got the hammering we deserved, along with some terrible luck for three deflected goals. A good time for an international break to reflect and get ready for Everton. In Klopp we trust (I hope? ) to sort this out. No need to panic, not yet anyway. Things could be much worse. YNWA.

Sorry Jadon, but Keita was a passenger yet again, he’s offered nothing since he joined and today his utter failure to do even the basics puts too much pressure on the other midfielders. He’s got to go.

You're right, JH, he probably wasn't worse than anyone else tonight. But Keita's problem isn't tonight.

It's the last 2 seasons plus tonight. He's not been able to apply his ability with any sort of consistency, even over a single game, much less a run of games

I think it might be time to accept he's not doing what we need and never will.

Spot on, JH. Digging out individual players is just futile and IMO, unececssary scape-goating. We were crap, end of story. I could even add the coaching staff to this cos we were clearly not ready to play today and well, it showed within 2 mins when Adrian makes a pass to Gomez w/ o even looking at his direction which by the way had he done that, he would have seen he was being pressed and the pass was not on.

That is a complete lack of focus and attention to the simplest of details which permeated thru out the team and players. If a player cannot even be ready to do the basics then this is the result you get. Couple that with Villa scoring at near every opportunity (3 deflected goals) just rubs salt on the wounds. We take the loss and move on cos after all, it is one result and as they say, "I'd rather lose once by 5 goals that lose five times 1-0".
