Think any lingering hope thiago would play a part on Sunday has been dashed. He has just been left out of the Spain squad for the forthcoming inter toto or whatever they call them these days games.
On a plus side hopefully injury isn't bad and he gets rested up for couple weeks and comes back with a big performance against Leicester.

There is a silver lining wherein he gets two weeks additional rest to heal and get back to his very best against Leicester onwards.
People forget how bad Richarlison's tackle actually was. Let's just thank the stars that Thiago isn't giving VVD company on the treatment table for the rest of the season.

Just a quite comment about managers ruling out players prior to the games on the weekend. Surely it would be better to keep the opposition guessing as to who is/ isn’t available for the game on the Sunday. Maybe I’m reading too much into it and top level teams can adjust fairly quickly to whoever is going to be on the pitch.

It’s mental to think how attached we are to him considering he’s played 1 and a half matches for us. I’m the exact same at the moment I look and hope for his name on every team sheet when it’s announced and feel disappointed when he’s not there. It’s not like the team aren’t winning either as we’ve won every game since. We are spoilt as LFC fans when it comes to players but I think Thiago has a different X factor that we haven’t seen for some time. And that’s not saying the other midfielders are bad as we have a world class side and squad. It’s just Thiago seems to have left his mark with us fans straight from the off set.

Maybe should sell Henderson then jk23, or at least drop him for thiago. I'm not convinced thiago is a better player than Hendo. And he definitely doesn't have Henderson drive. (I love thiago BTW)

Any talk of dropping players this year, our first team squad players I mean. Os not your usual dropping. It's a matter of fitness not performance.

We have a lot of games close together. And klopp is taking the medical teams reports very seriously.

I doubt very much we will see the same 11 playing two matches in a row for the time being.

I was a fan of jota at wolves, second best player to Jiminez but there wasn't much in it. His job was to set up jimi. Here he has more goal scoring opportunities as we have three goal scoring forwards.

He stated at atalanta, fairly weak team, he was phenomenal. I'm so happy to have him. definitely klopp type payer. I'd have him over werner as jota has football intelligence inabundance.

But it wasn't because Bobby is being dropped. It's because klopp is utilising the whole squad as he (and we) all know he will have to to keep the boys fit to play. That's why we are seeing shaqiri feature.

What's the match after atalanta? The biggest test do far. City away. Don't do well there usually but no crowd (their 176)
That's why jota played the cl game, to rest our no1 cf for city.

Perhaps we see jota on the wing to rest mane, but I doubt it. he'll come on as a sub though imo. Honestly I'd like to see all four play, but don't think that formation would be best against the shy blues.

Toughest game of the season. And we have a few missing from the strongest 11. If the boys can pull off a win it’ll be massive.

No tougher than the Barcelona come back. And we won't be starting 3 goals down.
Guardiola will be targeting our weakened defence, but his own defence is shaky and he'll rightfully be concerned about what our front line could do them.
The hardest game of our Premiership season for sure.

I think it's good that matip and thiago will both have 2 full weeks training to get back to match ready. While Milner, and young CBs can also get the head down at training knowing they will be facing more game time than expected. I hate these international breaks so I like when certain players are not selected and get 2 full weeks on training field to work.
