Just read an article for Pep Lijnders. Got me thinking is he valuable option fo Klopp successor? Been working with him for years now, know Klopp ideas and views and it's young too. I know he went somewhere and failed as a manager but its going to be some time yet until Klopp leaves and this will be even more experience for Pep. Lots of people want Gerrard but I'm not so sure about this. What's your thoughts on that all?

I would prefer him over gerrard yeah.
But depends what the club wants in that place and time.

If the club and Klopp truly back him as the successor, he has my full support.

My preferred option is Julian Nagelsman personally, he is the next generation Klopp for me.

"Lots of people want Gerrard"

Who? Cos all I ever see on Liverpool forums when Gerrard is mentioned is fans tripping over themselves to say they don't want him.

I don't really have an opinion on who I want to see replace Klopp at this moment in time, cos all I care about is him staying. I know he won't stay forever, and Pep is well placed from the point of view of continuity, but going from being a #2 to a #1 doesn't always work. And if Klopp stays to the end of his contract, that's 4 years. A lot could happen in that time.

I would lean towards Julian Nagelsman for the same reasons as Shaq attack.
Very similar to klopp, has done very well with Leipzig and did well with hoffenhiem before.

I like the look of him so he’s be my lick at this moment in time.

But like previously mentioned a lot can happen in the next 4 years. Who knows klopp could even end up extending his contract?

Who knows if Gerrard's tactics would be the same with a much much better squad?
I would definitely like Gerrard to manage Liverpool one day. I dunno if he's the next manager?

I don’t get why Pep Ljinders is the preferred choice for so many on here, Gerrard has a more distinguished managerial resumé already. While Gerrard was always the emotional choice, he is doing a damn good job at Rangers and his European performances bode extremely well for the future. If he finally overcomes Celtic just two years into his career, he simply has to be in the reckoning for more high-profile jobs.
Ljinders, conversely, didn’t pull up any trees in his role as NEC coach, and that is the extent of his managerial experience.

{Ed002's Note - Ljinders is a very well respected tactical coach. He is not management material.}

Wow how fickle fans are. After everything that Stevie G has done for Liverpool I don't get why fans wouldn't want him as next manager?
A certain Kenny Dalglish did pretty well with limited managerial experience as I recall.
I am pretty sure remember Klopp saying that Stevie should replace him when he leaves.

Some of us just want someone who can do the job effectively as it is going to be the biggest job in Europe when Klopp leaves, IMO. If Gerrard can do it then, he should have a chance to interview for the job. If he can't then, he should be nowhere near it.

Emotions don't cloud my judgment and we have seen what such emotional choices can cause by looking at how OGS and to a lesser extent, Lampard are struggling. If SG is qualified then, fine. If he is not, then he needs to be bypassed. It is that simple.

I’ll worry about it in 3-4 years time. I’d rather focus on getting through next 3-4 injury ravaged games.

Something Red. Well lots of people don't want Gerrard, but believe me lots of people do want him. I have mate that says if the club doesn't get Gerrard next would be the biggest mistake they make and whenever I try to talk about it and say to him that Gerrard is not worthy in my opinion he kinda gets mad and says Gerrard deserves it blah blah. You know what I mean. So yes, lots of people don't want him but he'll lots of people want him.

We have a good record with ex players managing us after managing Rangers.

He has always been my no. 1 choice.
