If City win their last 26 games they can get a maximum of 98 points. Nobody has a clue on how many points will be needed to win the league but I’m sure it won’t be in the 90’s. I am guessing low 80’s. It means we are where we need to be. It’s been disappointing to see us drop points this season but with the lack of pre season, intensity of matches and lengthy injury list we are well placed.

Tonight should be interesting. I have us down for a 1-0 win. Won’t be pretty but it’s the points that matter against our rivals.

g1dgo, there is no point making any points total projections right now cos City and us for example, are nowhere near the level we have been for the past 3 seasons for the exact reasons you mentioned. IMO, the team that wins the title is the one that can string 7 or so wins in a row. The hope is that it is us that can do that but with the injuries and lack of consistency esp. away from home and in team selection, it is going to be a heavy task. Not insurmountable in any way.

As for the game tonight, I literally cannot say what will happen cos there are so many possibilities that could come up. I will say that I won't be surprised that if we go 1 up, Klopp will do exactly what he did to Spurs in the CL final as in, make us very difficult to break down and make Jose break us down, something I don't think he can do.

I personally see the title going to the team that draws the least games. Might sound daft but a draw these days seems jus as damaging as a defeat (against the so called lesser teams) . I think all teams probs have a few looses against them come end of the season but think be interested to see who has gone all out to win the game rather than settle for a draw.

Gonna borrow Negative Walter’s mantle for today and predict us losing 2-0 or 3-0. Still think we will win the league though but this particular game might have arrived at the wrong time for us.
