Hi Eds and reds. Hope everyone is relatively positive following the last few months.

I have been getting unbelievable stick from my friends in various group chats. They say Klopp is accountable for this slump. I say he is not purely for the fact that he has done so much for the club. It does annoy me slightly that he has not tried to change the system to fit the available players. We obviously have a problem defensively so why don't we go 5 at the back (TAA and Robbo are wing backs anyway so they will bomb forward) . We can play Phillips, Kabak and Davies together as 3 centre backs that way if there is a mistake, there is an extra body in there who can hopefully correct that mistake.

3 midfielders would pick themselves (hendo, fab, thiago when fit) and Salah and Mane upfront as a narrow 2 as Firmino is virtually non-existent lately.

The only issue I can see with this is that Klopp has drilled the team to play a high line and doing this would be a complete change of system which would take a while to get used to.

Obviously Klopp knows best but it is frustrating he continues to persevere with something that is clearly not working.

I think it's well past the time Klopp changed a thing or two. Others have figured out how we play sometime ago, and we simply have not provided any answers as to how to adjust our own play.

It would be complete naivety to exclude klopp from any accountability for our recent form. I wouldn’t say it’s entirely down to the coaching and management of the team, but it’s a big factor for me and something we have seen before multiple times in his managerial career, and that’s consistent with him having difficulties trying different things and changing the set up, he hasn’t apart from a few tweaks in game that have made absolutely no difference. It was clear the mentality had changed a long time ago but people were in denial then and now those same people are saying it’s the mentality of the players. It’s gone past bickering amongst each other as fans in terms of those who think klopp is accountable (some even saying he should leave, which is well over the top) and those that are personal apologists for him and certain other people within the team. Of course, like you, I have loyalty to klopp, but that doesn’t mean I’ll be subjective in my evaluation of our current problems, these aren’t one offs here and there, this is a large stretch of games now and consistent results we haven’t seen at Liverpool for years, so clearly something is terribly wrong and it’s a collective problem that klopp is a part of. Just like how we said guardiola was a big part of city’s problems, it can’t be one rule for others and another for us, be objective.

Now, people need to share their constructive criticisms about what they think should change, not be called moaning idiots or ‘not supporters of the club’ but also support the changes klopp will inevitably have to make, and if he doesn’t, then his management abilities will come under question. I really hope him and the players turn it around, we need top 4 desperately, missing out would be huge.

{Ed025's Note - good post that Kman..

Play diamond formation. Put Trent in midfield as number 6, with neco as right back; play Ox right, mane left and firmino top of diamond with Salah up top as striker. Play Phillips and Kabak / Davies in CD. When we are 2-0 up bring off Robertson and give Tsimikas far more minutes. Sub mane or ox for Keita if ineffective. That would shake few things up.

Sounds a bit football manager to me. Getting 2-0 up might be an issue 🙈.

Nothing really revealing there Kman92, given that the manager's job is to assume responsibility for the collective efforts of the players, and therefore the team. So of course he has to assume the responsibility for whatever is affecting the team, even though he may not be directly the cause of it. I just think he needs to wake up or be woken up a bit and pursue new strategies and ways to revive the group. Yes, the calls for his head are way over the top, but then what else is new?

My curiosity actually wants to know if you suffer from multiple personality syndrome? Because you sure as hell do not talk like this during the live game chats, LOL. 😁.

Kman, your post is not to anyone that has been paying attention to our season. Klopp has shown his ability to evolve his thinking season after season with us and the proof is right there for all to see. We do not win the big ones we have won with the type of dominance with which we have done so without his smarts and ability to change from season to season.

I believe that getting Jota and Thiago was a huge step towards already tweaking our way of playing in midfield and attacking wise BUT with the level of injuries we have had, it is simply not possible right now. In addition, people keep saying he should change the system and I ask “To what and with who? ”. The bodies are simply not there.

I believe Klopp will never stop trying to find new ways to keep us ahead of the curve cos frankly, this is how we got here. As for him making mistakes, I don’t mind a manager making mistakes. What I care about is whether he is learning from them sndKlopp is by all accounts a quick learner cos he is no longer the manager he was when he came to us.
