Ed001, I would love to get your thoughts on what the solutions are for the remainder of this season and then what you think should happen in the summer.

We are massively missing Hendo and Virg as leaders on the pitch, Gini and Thiago for me should be taking up that role, but they’re not.

Gini for me is completely missing, thank him for the excellent memories but he’s a passenger when the team isn’t playing well. Is it time to break up the front 3? Or at least bring someone in who can’t not be starter across that front line.

{Ed001's Note - there is not much that can be changed, confidence is shot and that is not going to return by changing players around. The only real change needed is to get Gini out and put Fabinho in midfield to protect the defence. Gini has been a passenger for the last few months and Fabinho is not a defender at all. No idea why Klopp persists with the idea Fabs is any more than a desperation choice in defence as he has shown he can be got at very easily and doesn't read the play from that position. Once Jota is fully ready we can start resting those front 3, who look mentally shot to me right now. If he is not ready, then he will have to be used as a sub to allow one of them a bit of a break in the second half. Other than that, just suck it up and get on with it. This season has been horrible but there is nothing much that can be done about it.}

I agree. Klopp didn’t have a choice last night as many posters on here forgot Phillips was only injured which only left Williams. I thought maybe Milner could have gone lb with Robbo next to Kabak to deal with the pace but that was drastic as well. I think the team will be freshened up for Fulham.

Completely agree on Gini and Fab, Ed. What about ins and outs in the summer?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, this summer is going to be weird with no money and there is no way to know who would be available or within reach.}

I feel like I’ve been going crazy when I see the lineup before every game and Gini is still there. I think after he scored against Wolves that was when he more or less downed tools because I can’t remember a decent performance since. Absolute passenger.

I was watching Gini very closely in that game Ed001 after you said he hides behind the opposition players so he’s not an option. He was doing it all game your spot on, whenever one of our players had the ball in possession he was either far too close to a Chelsea player to be an option or he had a Chelsea player infront of him cutting off the pass, almost every single time. When he did get the ball his movement had no urgency at all in it and his pass was always a safe one to Thiago or someone, infact there was no urgency at all in his whole game, when Chelsea had possession he didn’t press, he didn’t run to get back into position.
The whole team looked knackered and slow, completely understandable considering our problems this season, like they have just been to the gym for the first time in a year, they got beaten by a team that was just so much sharper and quicker and fitter, but even though we looked absolutely shot you could still see most of our players still trying, still giving every last bit of energy that they still had, apart from Gini for me. So for me even though this season is a bit of a write off I’m hopeful for next season because the passion and willingness to graft for Klopp still seems like it’s still there for me, we just need to get players back from injury, get the team fit and get the confidence back and we have the best manager in the world to do that.

{Ed001's Note - there was one point we had them pressed right back and they got out purely because Gini was back on his heels and stood watching instead of closing down his man. He has become a liability but I am sure his stats look great as he is covering lots of ground to ensure he never actually takes any responsibility for the play.}

I bet Klopp can’t wait to let him go ed001, I bet he feels really let down by him and I bet it’s killing him having to have little choice but to play him right now.

{Ed001's Note - he has had the chance to play Phillips instead of him but continues picking him, so I am not so sure. Like I said, he will look good on the stats because he works damn hard to stay out of sight for 90 min.}

In your opinion ed001, do you think there is something more happening here than just injuries, fatigue and bad form? Is there something maybe going on behind the scenes we don't know about or is it purely the reasons you and others have suggested previously? Love getting your insights. Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - well the biggest problem is the lack of fans to provide that boost of adrenalin when legs get tired. This whole season is shortened, so the players are constantly tired and need help, but there is nothing to help them.} Become a Patron!
