Hi all,

Now that the Blades have been relegated got me thinking.

There is a young lad there that is quite promising. He was top scorer at a youth world cup once but has had a couple of injuries that has stunted his career. I reckon under the right coaching he could be world-class. Natural finisher which he obviously need, plus fills the homegrown quota.

Brewster I think his name is. Worth a punt? Heard he's a Liverpool fan too? 🤣

In all seriousness though I'm sad to see Sheffield relegated. They did well last year but it was a miracle they were even in the league with some of the players they have.

Good shout. Only problem is the coach here couldn't wait to get rid.

{Ed077's Note - How many goals has he scored at SHU actually? Dont act like Brewster has proven himself to be a beast of a player.}

ed077 to be fair to Brewster's it was an awful move for the lad never had a run of starts for Sheff Utd. Last season when everybody seemed to think Chris Wilder was the best thing since sliced bread they scored 39 goals in the league and this season up to now only 17. Brewster has only 47 minutes per game this season with only 10 starts. I don't think Wilder has given him much of a chance Henry did not score in his first 8 games for that great Arsenal side. It was a shame that Brewster never moved to Brighton I think both could have had a lot better seasons.

{Ed077's Note - "natural finisher" is struggling to get into to a team struggling for goals and people moan about Klopp not keeping him and playing him. If he isnt ready yet to contribute for a bottom half team in PL then how much of an impact would he have had for the defending champions.

And dont forget he did fetch a fair chunk of money that helped bring in the likes of Jota, Thiago, etc..}

He has proved klopp right. I thought he was quality but he's quite clearly just not that good. Real shame but career seems to of nose dived.

The best thing Brewster can do is to have a top season in the championship - 25+ goals and hope that one of the promoted teams go in for him.

Selling Brewster under the terms we agreed was the right deal. If he becomes a great footballer we have the chance to get him back at a good price. If he doesn’t we’re still up because of the fee, which allowed us to go for Jota.

Brewster did well for Swansea. He should play at that level for a few years, he’s still very young.

Think Brewster would have scored a few for us this season.
Think if he has a good season next year in the championship 20+ goals he’ll get a move to a PL team again.
Just think he needs a run of games in system that plays more to his strengths.

Brewster might have not had many chances at Sheff Utd this season but he’s probably played a lot more minutes than he would have had he stayed. Origi was ahead of him and he’s played something like 180 mins in the premier league all season.

Sorry but this is ludicrous. Brewster actually wanted to leave according to Ed01 so the idea that Klopp wanted to get rid is patently false.

Secondly if Brewster could have scored a few for us then, how on earth did he not score a few for one of the worst teams in PL history this season? Even worse, the guy that could have helped us score a few, spent majority of the season on the bench for one of the worse teams in PL history. Yet this kid would score a few for us for us yet could not do so at Sheffield Utd with the tragic Olie MacBurnie ahead of him? Again, this is beyond ludicrous.

As someone already said, Brewster has proved Klopp right that he is levels below what we needed this season and we got a solid profit on him. Brewster may go on to be a beast of a striker and I hope that it happens for him but people should not go around creating fantasies about how he could have helped us whereas he did sweet “you know what” for a whole season in a tragic Sheff Utd club.

Ed077 I was being sarcastic about it being a good shout. As has been said repeatedly here he played 2nd fiddle to allegedly inferior players. I'm beginning to wonder was the championship his level? Just because he scored a few goals at an underage tournament does not mean he's going to tear it up in the Premier league.

I think they paid same amount we paid for Thiago?

Oh mane mane. I was saying it tongue in cheek too haha. Suppose sarcasm doesn't shine through via text. I mean I wish him all the best but we got an amazing deal with an unproven youngster. Didn't realise I'd start this type of reaction =].

I'd have kept him ahead of Origi. Sheff utd was a bad move, bloke will drop down and probably top the scoring charts in the Championship next year. One thing about Brewster will never change, if he's supplied with chances he will score a high percentage of them.
