One of the greats for sure. Didn’t he have knee problems near the end of his career?

{Ed001's Note - yes mate. His legends article should be up tomorrow.}

Great read as always Ed, but just curious as to your pick of Vardy as the modern equivalent as I don’t see him dribbling and beating players with skill as opposed to pure pace. What about Mbappe you reckon?

{Ed001's Note - because Eusebio rarely used his dribbling as it says in the profile. But that wasn't why, it was just a random 'quick' player who was defo worse than him in every aspect of the game. Mbappe might be quicker.}

Nice article Ed. Great read. Are you going to release subsequent parts to it like the article on Cruyff? The article on Cruyff was one of the best sports article that I have read across any platform.

{Ed001's Note - wow thank you mate. I am just finishing up the Legends article to go with it. All being well, it should be up tomorrow.}

My grandad all ways use to go on about how good he was ed and he was a Leeds fan and use to go all the time so he got to see a lot of great players. Sadly before my time but I all ways look back on 80s football from when I was growing up and wonder how the players would get on back then Ed they all ways say if some of the footballers could play today but I bet a lot more could play today than what could play if you sent them back to the 60s 70s and 80s.

{Ed001's Note - my grandad loved him too, he was there pitchside during the group stage games in '66 and always told me Eusebio was possibly the best player in the world.}

I enjoyed that Ed, I didn’t realise that Eusebio was so quick!
One of my favourite pastimes is projecting which past footballers could be successful today.
I’d always thought that Malcolm McDonald was a sort of Eusebio-type player, extremely quick and powerful, not quite as fast but maybe better in the air?
I’d love a time machine, go back to about 1962 and watch the next 15 years of football. Happy days.

{Ed001's Note - thanks mate, glad you enjoyed. It would be nice to go back to when footballers were allowed to actually tackle!}

class that Ed01, i always think Eusebio should be in the discussion for greatest of all time. he'd be immense in todays game as you say and a gentleman too.

{Ed001's Note - very much so. I am surprised his name doesn't come up more in those discussions as well.}

My father adored Eusebio almost as much as he did Pele. Eusebio was a physical monster with pace, power and a rocket of a shot on him. Even Pele was a huge fan of his.
