Not Lfc-related particularly unless Juergen Klopp is a keen biscuit-dunker like me.
In life's quieter moments, my mind drifts to random thoughts, and I was musing how much more easily and quickly the modern biscuit falls apart when dunked in a cuppa compared to days of yore.
I can console myself however that this is hopefully due to the decreased amount of hydrogenated fats in said biscuit.
In other words, less sticky but better for the old ticker.
Good news for dunkers of the U. K. 😄.

I must say, having been a dunker in my youth, then not dunked for several years, but now returning to dunking, I have a couple of observations.

McVities Rich Tea still appear to be as dunkable as they always were, and are pretty reliable for at least 1 good dunk, and possibly 2 before breaking apart (2 dunks same half of biscuit, each half good for 2 dunks, so 4 dunks per biscuit in total) .

I've also become a fan of oat biscuits in my old age (Nairns, although other biscuit brands are available) . They are particularly good for dunking, especially the ginger ones that are an oval shape (rather than round) .

Dunk on, brother!

How does one find the hobknob for such occasion? I have always been a particular fan, especially the chocolate swirl said buiscuit leaves behind

🤔.

{Ed001's Note - the caramel chocolate digestive is good, as the caramel melts and holds the biccie together.}

I agree and disagree Zeddicus - the rich tea is truly the best dunker, you just can't beat it for texture and ability to absorb all the goodness. However, it is also the one most fraught with danger as there is no reliable way to determine how much dunking is too much dunking. Yet, on the other hand, there is no greater thrill than the seconds between the undunking and trying to avoid dripping rich tea all over the sofa!

{Ed001's Note - rich tea fingers are the ideal dunker, as they fit in any cup. They are obviously designed to be dunked.}

Dark chocolate Hob Nobs. The master buiscuit when it comes to dunkin’.

I maybe in the minority but I've always prepared to dunk a chocolate bar than biscuits. My personal faves being a yorkie or a mint club.

Good shout on the rich tea fingers, Ed001. I think that's why I like the Nairns oblong ginger biscuits - the perfect shape for dunking!

I might be considered a heathen here, but I never liked dunking chocolate biscuits. I love the melted chocolate loveliness, but can't stand the taste of the tea afterwards!

The answer may be to get 2 cups of tea at a time, one for dunking and one for drinking, but surely that's considered frivolous?!

{Ed001's Note - I have to do that anyway, as I like my tea quite milky and it goes cold too fast to get a good dunking session. Nothing worse than dunking in cold tea. Which is odd because dunking choccy biccies in cold milk is lovely.}

How about dunking Maccies fries in a brew?

{Ed001's Note - kids do that with milkshakes. Vile. Nothing worse than those horrible Maccies fries. They are rank. Proper chip shop chips smothered, or dunked, in gravy are much better.}

Can we get a rund won on all the Ed's preferred dunking biscuits? Maybe Ed002 could do a podcast on it to replace the sharkopod.

{Ed002's Note - I know what it is but I have never dunked a biscuit in my life.}

As a utd fan I'm sorry for jumping in on your excellent thread but I had to recommend or maybe jog your memories on an excellent dunker you have missed out, my favourite, the 'malted milk'

They were much better before maccies stopped putting salt on them. I do prefer chippy chips but dunked in KFC gravy.

Rich tea and ginger nuts are the best dunkers for me.

Pink wafers are nice in tea. Jaffa cakes just dissolve and it's a waste.

Ed001 I 100% agree, but would like to chuck curry sauce into the mix as well.

{Ed001's Note - I can take or leave that. Probably because you could get that anywhere, whereas when I moved around the country I found you could only get nice gravy in the north-west.}

Ed001, I'm the same - milky tea and cold too fast. A mate of mine pointed out a USB cup warmer - like a mini hotplate!

I was really interested until I clocked that it cost £100!

I'll stick to my cold tea, thanks!

{Ed001's Note - I sometimes warm the milk, much easier.}

Amateurs . its all about the cup! choose wisely. it should keep the tea at optimum drinking temperature.

Sorry but no. Bite the ends off a penguin biscuit, dip it in, suck some tea up like a straw, then eat the entire tea soaked biscuit up in one.
That’s next level dunking right there. 💪🏼
Also, Maccies chicken nuggets dunked in vanilla milkshake. 👌.

{Ed0666's Note - who the fuc* puts a chicken nugget in milkshake and then has the audacity to put said nugget in ones mouth??? I’m sending over a shrink pronto! Vanilla milkshake you say Mikey???

Mikey, that’s my wife’s favorite thing to do. Live in the US these days and when I make it down to Yonkers I hit the store and grab multiple packs of penguins for that exact trick.

Ed0666 a lot of the teenagers now dunk fries in there milkshakes. absolutely disgusting.

Damn it. Not only are the red half of Manchester doing better than us in the league this year but the Manc poster above has the audacity to steam over here and claim the dunking crown with his Malted Milk offering.
How come noones suggested the humble custard cream? Douse them in a cup of sweetened PG Tips and the whole packet is under mortal threat within seconds.

Ed's you got to try the Tim Tam slam. You'll need to youtube it but my word, it's a revelation!

{Ed001's Note - I don't know what they are but not for me that. Still has to be better than the vileness of malted milks, hate those things!}

HeyYouGuys, I tried dunking ginger nuts once but Ed Sheeran got cross and called the police.
