Man Utd fans were fine when their commercial operations were blowing everyone out of the water in the 90s and it was funding record signings and the titles were rolling in.
They were loving it then, when everyone else couldn't compete.
As soon as the PL was devised it set us off down this path, away from the main source of revenue from attendances.
United were at the forefront of that shift, and now they've decided they don't like it because others have caught up and there are bigger players than them?
Don't act as if they are the saviours of the people's game, they're the ones that embraced this change in the first place.

Spot on Juicer, you have nailed it nicely.

Spot on they just aren’t the forefront anymore.

To be fair to United fans they benefited from the success of their team when money was pouring into the newly founded premier league. This is entirely different and threatens the entire football pyramid and the very nature of football in this country. Many United fans have protested the glazers for years.

Violence and thuggery can never be condoned but let’s make sure that now our owners have supposedly called off the super league we don’t let them resurrect it in the coming years.

Man Utd monetised the PL, 6times.
Their voracious commercial success spawned Sir John Hall, Jack Walker and Matthew Harding and suddenly the funding of the clubs had been taken away from the supporters.
I agree it was a perfect storm in that they had a good team and manager when the PL started, but they certainly rode that wave of monetisation.
We’re now reaping what they sowed in my view.

Juicer,

That’s total bollocks, us United fans have never ever been happy with the Glaziers. It’s nothing to do with city or Chelsea spending £100m on players, it’s on our owners having no ambition to win, so long as we make too 4 abd the money rolls in, and the constant debt the club is put under with them taking millions out of the club every year. They don’t love football or United, just money.

{Ed0666's Note - with the greatest of respect I didn’t see you guys smashing youre stadium up and battering policemen up when you were winning premierships and Champions Leagues?

Ed who are your referring to when you say “you guys”? Are you labelling all United fans yobs? Because then in the stadium are not a representation of our fan base, you will always get a handful of idiots. Are all Liverpool fans like them idiots who trashed peoples bars in Barcelona a few years ago when you were away in the CL?

{Ed0666's Note - let me correct my proclamation and Thankyou for alerting me to my mistake. I didn’t mean to tarnish all United fans as perpetrators of this fiasco I meant the ones that were there who caused the ruckus.
