Stat attack - Liverpool have scored only four goals this season from midfield.
Mancity 28, manunited 28 leicester 25 are top 3.
If our midfield could add 20 goals we would
have been sitting pretty on top of the table o believe. I think its not the defense or attack that is the actual problem. Its the lack of anything from our midfielders that jas killed our push.
We need to add goals to our midfield and hence i don't yhink bissouma is the answer.

The gk, defence, midfield and attack and the manager have all been the problem this season. But the forwards not being able to kick the ball straight is right up there as our biggest problem.

Our midfield didn’t score many goals last season either, when we won the league.
Or the season before, when we won the champions league.
This is why stats are pretty much pointless when used like you’ve just done.
Our team isn’t set up for our midfield to be the ones scoring goals, it’s set up for our midfield to be the hardworking engine in the middle of the park to allow the midfield itself, our full backs and also the likes of VVD to create the goals for the forwards.
Our defence being decimated, our midfield being decimated to cover the defence, fatigue, lack of training and the front 3 having poor form is the issue, not our midfield not scoring.

Lack of training is not an excuse it’s been the same for all sides. In fact our schedule has been easier than our rivals due to our usual poor domestic cup form.

Stats without context are always dangerous.

9 of the goals for Leicester are from Barnes who is clearly not a midfielder (or if he is, then so is Salah and Mane)

8 from Maddison, we don’t play with a CAM in our formation.

Can’t be arsed to look into the rest of it, but I’m pretty confident Leicester would give their right arm for a forward who can score like Salah does and so on.

We are where we are largely because of injuries. People try to say that’s not an excuse but of course it bloody plays a huge part in it! Tell me another team who’ve had their only 3 senior players injured for the entire season in one position? This has also meant we’ve had to play fab and Hendo at CB far too much, which has meant our 2 best midfielders not playing in midfield. That’s 4 out of our starting lineup not playing in their correct position. Add to that we’ve had Mane and Bobby having a mate in front of goal. Add to to that because of injuries across Jota, Ox, Keita, Thiago, Hendo we’ve not been able to rotate a team in desperate need of a rest.

We’ve created plenty of chances in enough games to be much further up the table.

Lack of training for us is very much an issue, the disruption to our defence and midfield will have changed our training regime to try and prepare the team into playing with a whole different defence and midfield. Not many teams have had anywhere near the same disruption we have had so their training will be mostly the same, not a luxury we have had. Whole season was a wright off as soon as VVD and Gomez got injured. Hopefully we can come back strong next season.

MU's stats are skewed by Bruno's 26 goals mostly from the penalty spot or free kicks.
