Morning all
Just been reading this morning about carra’s and Gary Neville’s prem team of the season. No shock in them not putting in any Liverpool players.
What’s everyone’s prem team of the season then?

Omitting Salah just highlights their lack of quality as Pundits yet again. No wonder they weren't good enough to stay in the game as coaches, and had to embark on careers as professional wind up merchants. Salah has got 20 goals from the wing again this season. First Liverpool player to score 20 league goals in 3 consecutive seasons this century. Only 1 goal behind Kane who people can't shut up about. He walks into the team.

Martinez
Cancelo, Dias, Stones, Dallas
Gundogan, Soucek
Salah, Fernandes, Son
Kane.

Ederson
Coufal Evans Diaz Shaw
De Bruyne Soucek Fernandes
Foden Kane Salah

Liverpool would be in the bottom half of the table without Salahs goals.

Looks pretty reasonable, but shaw over Robbo not a chance. Cavani as signing of the season, no chance. Werner has had better impact!

Morning, mine would go something like this:

GK: Martinez - good season and a good keeper
LB: Shaw - had his best season in a United shirt
CB: Dias - no nonsense CB, been excellent
CB: Stones - benefits from Dias but has also been very impressive
RB: Cancelo - found his form from Juventus, one of Citie's best players

CM: De Bruyne - not as many goals or assists but still the best midfielder in the country
CM: Gundogan - found himself in his best form and had his best season at City. Hugely impressive season.
CAM: Bruno Fernandes - absolutely ridiculous stats (although somewhat inflated by penalties) . Hasn't always been at his best however.

LW: Son - had an excellent season with Kane, a big positive in a disappointing season for Spurs.
ST: Kane - Best player in the country this season, top goalscorer and assister in the league.
RW: Salah - could win his 3rd golden boot (in 4 seasons) and been Liverpool's best player, although that's not saying much.

Honourable mentions:
Def - Jonny Evans, Esri Konsa
Mid - Mason Mount, Thomas Soucek
Att - Phil Foden, Patrick Bamford.

RH18,

I’m not a blinkered United fan by any means, and I think Robertson is top draw, but you can’t tell me you think he’s had a better season than Shaw this year? Shaw has been fantastic week in week out will push Bruno for our player or the season. Robbo has been quiet this season.

Actually Stand United, Robbo was playing some of his best football in Liverpool shirt up until our drop off in the New Year, he was absolutely immense. Then he got knackered like everyone else and has dropped off considerably. Agree that Shaw has had a much better season from beginning to end, though.

I actually agree with your whole team Monkey Mad, except i’d put Mount in for Gundogan. He’s a top class player who has carried this Chelsea team all season long. Maybe Kante or Rice in for De Bruyne as well.

Stand United, I personally think Dallas has had a better season than Shaw although he hasn't played the whole campaign at left back to be fair. Shaw was my very next in line though. Behind him i'd have had Cresswell.

I make you correct though. Robertson is no doubt still the best left back in the league but his form this season faded badly since Christmas. Tsimikas was a complete waste of money as he's clearly failed to convince Klopp he is even good enough to offer Robbo a rest.

I’d agree on Robertson being the best LB in the league. Shaw has had a great season though to be fair. One I don’t agree with in the team picked by Neville and Carra is Rashford. Has been great at times and disappeared at times. Good player but definitely wouldn’t be in my team of the year.

As for comment about Cavani and Werner being better, I can’t agree with that. Cavani has been sensational for us, not just his goals but his movement up top is as good as anyone in the league. I’m happy we’ve got him for another season. Just a shame we couldn’t have him 5 years earlier.

How did neville have Rashford over Son is beyond me and both had Dias as player of the year so I don’t get how the best player in the league would not be best signing. And as poor as we have been Salah got 20 league goals in a team that has struggled badly since Xmas. I must admit I use to think Bt sports pundits where bad but them 2 clowns get worse every week.

I actually agree with Stand-United. Robertson is the best left back in the league, possibly Europe. He has been steady and consistent this season but below his usual very high standards. However, Shaw has played out of his skin for months now and has been the best left back in the league this season.

1. Ederson
2. Cancelo
3. Shaw
4. Stones

11. Grealish.

I've gone for a 'Garth Crooks' type team, ie a formation that makes no sense whatsoever and couldn't play together but still represents for me the best players of the season. I've also included players who have missed some time due to injuries.

G - Martinez
D - Cancelo, Fofana, Dias
M - Kante, Soucek, Gundogan, Mount, Grealish
F - Salah, Kane.

Naah salah doesn't get in front three
For me. Has scored loads but miss3d 3 times them. Been selfish and his apart from scoring everything is below what's expected.
