I see Mane moving on this summer with Konate, Bissouma and Sarr coming in.

If Mane goes, we will sign two forwards. A wide player and a striker to replace Origi.

Was that in a Crystal ball or tea leafs?

I agree. Maybe Sancho instead of Sarr if we can raise enough funds.

Lyons Tea Jay.

Doesn’t solve our problem scoring goals though.

If mane leaves I’ll be expecting a proper replacement not sarr.

{Ed002's Note - Like Jota?}

Great choice Jimmy 🤣.

A winger, Cm and cb to replace Mane would be the dream but don’t know how much you think we would get for Mane and who would realistically want him as first choice tbh.

I think unless we are willing to sell for between 60-80 million we will struggle to find a buyer.

What's wrong with Barry's tea 🤷‍♂️.

10.) 20 May 2021

Remember Harvey elliot also, he will be our marquee signing.

If we sell mane we definitely buy a replacement.

I believe firmino and mane need to be some of the players we move on and try to get decent fees for in the hopes of rebuilding some areas of the squad. I realise some fans have some sentiment towards them, as I do, but I just think it’s obvious that they will never fully return to their previous form and be players that would help us mount a title challenge again. We have jota, who has outperformed both players with far less game time, and I hope we can convince salah to stay, since no one would be able to afford him most probably, Elliot is coming in and I assume he’ll be an option for those positions, but it still means we need 2-3 players brought in for these positions. I’d assume along with mane and firmino, the likes of origi and shaqiri will be let go in some capacity. Obviously if minamino is brought back and kept then that’s one less player to bring in but I’d assume he would be put on loan again. Sarr just isn’t of the quality we need, if we want to push higher up the table again, it’ll be hard to get the players of the quality of which the likes of firmino and mane used to be but I wouldn’t waste substantial amounts of money on players like sarr. If we’re letting go of firmino and mane (which I personally think we should) then at least 1 of those 2-3 players brought in needs to be a top class signing.

13.) 20 May 2021
20 May 2021 19:55:12
That’s why I don’t get the point of Sarr, as we’ve got Jota already, we should be looking at bringing in another forward who can actually score goals and give Firmino some competition.

14.) 20 May 2021
20 May 2021 20:00:52
I agree MK Scouser. Sancho instead of Sarr. Maybe Jota with an injury free campaign can get us 20+ goals next season. Salah will do what Salah does and that’s 20+goals, therefore Sancho chipping in with 10+goals but also lots of assists won’t be so bad.

Ideally we need goals and a clinical finisher to help Salah carry the burden, the problem is who is attainable who can fulfil that role? Kane, well we will be blown out the water transfer and wages wiser, although he would be the ideal signing for what we need. Haaland and Mbappe are never happening so maybe the Sancho route which is achievable if we can raise the funds will do.

You really reckon Mane is off Ed0666?

{Ed0666's Note - yes I do Barry. He’s checked out and he’s done mate.

22.) 20 May 2021
20 May 2021 21:21:51
Ed066, Mane will not be here next season mate? Wow. Wasnt expecting that mate. Do you honestly think he is gone? Who would your bet be on coming in please? I’m assuming if he is likely to leave we won’t also shift Bobby or Salah as well?

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not trying to be dramatic but I’ve said for a while mane would be off. As for incoming? I’m not so sure dream. I know we looked seriously at Jonathan David and Ismael Sarr before we opted for Jota. I would concur if Mane leaves Bobby and Salah stay. I hope to Christ Salah stays anyway as he’s irreplaceable.

20 May 2021 21:49:00
Where is Mane off too Eds? Fair play to him, he's been great for us overall. Very happy we have Jota, I think a CF would make great sense.

{Ed0666's Note - no idea where he’s going it’s just my impression that he’s off

24.) 20 May 2021
20 May 2021 21:55:48
I had no idea we looked at David. would absolutely love him at the club can play across the entire front line done well for Lille this year, if Mane does leave and jota takes up his place and we bring in David would be amazing I like sarr but I’d be against taking him with the Africa cup of nations coming up.

25.) 20 May 2021
20 May 2021 21:53:57
Ok mate fair enough, thank you for your insight mate. I will be gutted if he does leave. As for replacing him surely we have to look better than Jonathon David it Sarr? Mane has scored and assisted good numbers over the last 4 seasons including this season i think he is second in the charts behind Salah. Surely has to be a big name player coming in?

26.) 20 May 2021
20 May 2021 22:34:18
Agree Mane seems disengaged, obviously affecting his performance. When the Harry Kane transfer takes place, the transfer domino effect can then take place, I am not sure where Mane might sit on this but I could see him go to Spurs as one idea, depending on Kane’s value, we would get an over inflated or fair price for Mane, then our replacement would be funded by Mane sale, so on and so on. agents will be rubbing their hands with $ signs in their eyes as I write this post.

27.) 21 May 2021

I can;t see who is going to pay the money we would want for Mane in this market.

Real? They are skint and I think they have had their hand burnt paying good money for attacking players near 30 (cough! Hazard) . They've also got a player over 30 on big money returning in Bale. If they're spending, it will be on younger players. They are also stacked with wingers.

Barca? Similar to Real they are skint and have also had their hands burnt paying big money for players. With Griezmann and Messi, they will surely be looking to significantly reduce the age of their forward line, especially if they spend big money.

PSG? Have the money but have both Neymar and Mbappe who can play on the left. Unless they are going to put Mane back on the right wing, it's not happening.

Juve? They have Ronaldo to get rid of first. Maybe if they get rid of him but if not, I don't see how they will fit him into the team. I also suspect they would want to spend their money more wisely.

I don't see any of the other Serie A teams being able to afford him although no doubt some would be interested in him.

Is Atletico an option? I mean it's possible but I don't feel they need him and he doesn't really seem like an Atletico-type signing, especially if they were to spend big money for him at his age.

So I have no idea who would be in for him to be honest!

It's hard to imagine Mane wanting out, considering how integral he's been to our success over the years.

But it does look like something isn't right with him.

Get Son and Mane swap.

30.) 21 May 2021
21 May 2021 00:11:51
I agree ed. Him and wij have checked out.

It's got to be a big player to stamp out authority. We've been here before. I don't mean hundreds of millions but we have to replace him properly, big name goes out a big player has to come in. We don't have enough up top atm anyway for rotation. Yet alone if mane leaves.

Bamba/ Harvey barnes/ son/ sancho/ grealish.

2x - bissouma/ gravenberch/ barrella/ neuhaus

Konate/ koulibaly/ botman/ carlos/ kounde/

For anyone worried about Salah did you not see his celebration when Alison scored. He is here next season and wants CL football with us!

31.) 21 May 2021
21 May 2021 00:23:37
Salahs scored something like 95 premier goals for us and mane 90.

32.) 21 May 2021
21 May 2021 00:30:32
I tend to agree, i think it’s more disengagement and possibly a loss of athleticism that has affected Mane as opposed to simply a run of bad form. He isn’t even making the same runs he used to, isn’t near the nuisance he used to be and makes consistently awful decisions on the ball. The rest of it, the total lack of balance, poor touch and the poor finishing could be attributed to other factors, but to me he just doesn’t look to be as hungry or the player he once was.

33.) 21 May 2021
21 May 2021 06:50:51
I doubt Mane is moving on. he's just chucking a sad because his touch has evaded him and his performance has dropped while Salah and Jota are shining. Come August we will have the old Sadio back imo.

34.) 21 May 2021
21 May 2021 10:54:57
I doubt we’re going to see the old Mane any time soon, unless you’ve got a time machine or intend giving him anabolic steroids, times up for him, move him on and use the money, he’s 29, about the right age to shift him on.
