What is with the prices of the new shirt? Not that I ever get one bit how can the average fan afford that? Absolutely disgusting. Also what is the difference between the match top and the stadium top that justifies 85 quid for my daughter.

I don’t mind it so much for adults but for kids? Morally bankrupt, the parents of working class kids should be able to afford kits to play in it means the world to them. Often its all the kids ever want to wear and it is a huge part of growing up and loving your football club.

These are the exact kind of decisions that fans on the board need to intervene in.

{Ed002's Note - The "fans on the board" cannot impact decisions.}

or what it is worth Ben elf I agree, I think the new strip is pretty appalling.

The cuffs and neck line are being described as "crimson" (or whatever colour variant Nike wish to call it), which has no real correlation to the club for mine, perhaps the design is a discarded A. S. Roma aberration? supposedly the colour is meant to reresent - power, energy and danger . danger alright, danger of making my eyes bleed - not liking it!

Keeping with the A. S. Roma/ Italian theme, I noticed on the training jacket that Nike have placed another garish looking piece of "fashion" fabric (aka we have run outof ideas) in the middle which have symbols that for mine resemble A. C. Milan and ACF Fiorentina's logos - what and why?

Perhaps one of the Ed's might be able to enlighten me/ us on how the decision (s) re the Kit are reached? surely someone at the club signs off on the final design decisions, or under the contract are Nike given carte blanche?

It'll eventually change, the pressure will come from 'fast fashion' and clubs needing to think about their impact on the environment.

Personally I would get them back on to the two year cycles. Home every 2 year, away every 2 year on an intermittent basis. The kit providers get to provide a new kit every year, and the people that can afford it can buy it when it first comes out. Then for the second year offer it on a discounted rate for those not fortunate enough to afford them.

IMO there is absolute no need for three new kits every year other than fleecing fans.

It was only when people kicked off on here last year that I realised shirts are £70, sure they were £40 not long back.
Changing them every season is annoying, as someone has said it should alternate home and away and keep for 2 seasons. Was that not the case sometime ago?
It’s no surprise people buy shirts from China and I don’t blame them.

I get the new shirt every season and I have all way found football too to be good quality all ways wash well. I get my autistic son 2 or 3 of them each season and they last a lot longer than all is other T-shirt. I still have an Adidas one from 2008 and have ones upwards from that date.

If people keep buying them at that price, they will keep selling them at that price.

Exactly mikey - just stop buying them and stop whining.

It is what it is, as long as people will buy them Nike will keep making them, basic capitalism. None of us are compelled to do so, that’s about choice. Personally I think there’s no value in buying them, I’d rather go for the retro ones, as they’re never going to go out of date. There are other ways of showing support which benefit the club without spunking £100 on a new shirt.

I don't know why everyone feels so compelled to buy the latest kit. This kit's design has been hammered yet the same people are probably moaning about how much it costs.

Although I completely agree with the sentiment - and once every 2 years may be a decent compromise - I just can't see there being any change. There will be some 'fans' who can afford to splash out almost £100 every season, so Nike and others will continue with their 3 shirts per season unfortunately.
