Special shout out and mention to Fabinho. Salah and Philips had great seasons and my heart would give player of the year to Phillips but let’s be real, without Fabinho we could potentially be looking at finishing below Arsenal.

Gave his all at CB and helped us to some massive wins alongside Matip earlier in the season and then when the team is struggling is moved back into midfield and alongside Thiago commands us through the last 10 games. Absolute baller.

who do you think is the best defensive midfielder at the moment ed002 if you don't mind me asking?

havent really been able to watch much football at all this season, i still think its kante though.

fabinho is one of the best currently too imo, i do think that we're very lucky to have him too MK.

{Ed002's Note - Right now Joshua Kimmich has the edge over the likes of Caemiro and Manuel Locatelli, Kante etc.; but there are those coming through like Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Lucas Gourna-Douath with others like Ilaix Moriba not far behind.}

Fabinho is a special player to be fair. Possibly only a couple I would say are better on their day.

You all got to remember there are other CDM out side of liverpool you may be surprised if you take those ross tinted glasses of you may find some good players out there heavens forbid that they may even be better than players who play for liverpool.

I think Fabinho is a brilliant player. Not far behind the likes of Casemiro but Kimmich is an astoundingly good player. Kante has had a good season, although this is off the back of two relatively mediocre ones (although been played out of position) .

I think at times, as many pundits agree, when Fabinho is on form and playing well he's by far the best defensive midfielder in the league. He reminds me very much of Fernandinho and is essentially our own version of that player.

My problem is that he hasn't shown that consistency over a whole season yet. If he does that then I'll believe he's on the same level as Casemiro and Kimmich etc.

Ed Fabinho is obviously better than all the youngsters you listed as coming through. I agree probably behind casemiro and Kimmich but that’s it.

The last run of games where we've seen how good Thiago really is, shows to me how valuable Fabinho is. He's certainly the best DM in the PL. Are Kimmich, Casemiro better? Only real way to know would be if they played in the PL too. I have my opinion no doubt others will have theirs.

If Kante is a Holding midfielder, then i'm a Playboy model. The guys like a coked up Jack Russell. Even if he tried to hold, he'd still find himself winning the ball back by the opposition corner flag!
