Im getting all excited about Konate joining us.

I have not even seen him play, but going by the eds descriptions of how good he is i can't wait.

Leaves us just a Bissouma to go and then Bobs your uncle, title number 21.

On a more serious note (I forgive the typo, getting 3rd this season certainly feels like a title! ), I too am looking forward to seeing him play. Decent competition for Joe, and hopefully there will be a few games where we play Gomez and Konate as that could be a hint to the future.

Worried about his injuries, but let's see how we go.

Has anyone seen play him in order to offer an opinion on how good he is/ can be?

I haven’t seen him but guessing he is a good prospect for that fee and his age. Guessing he will be first choice as that was Klopp was after?

Did feel a twinge of excitement at the prospect of us getting deals done quickly tho. Mr edwards, I bow to your transfer market ability sir.

Need a CF to win the league next year imo. Ideally someone who can get on the end of trent’s crosses. Imagine how many assists he would get if we could bring on a target man if needed.

Those two signings (Konate, Bissouma) would definitely strengthen us but we must not forget that our forwards have become less and less clinical over the last 24 months and has probably been as big a contributor to our poor season as the injuries. We need to add a forward that can score goals and challenge for a starting position.

And failing that, the coaching staff need to work on the forwards finishing and decision-making under pressure. We should have done that last summer to be honest after seeing too many close calls in games we utterly dominated. Luckily our defence and midfield was available to bail us out that year.

I think the front 3 will come right next season. We'd be mightily unlucky to experience the same systemic issues next season and I think we will lay a more consistent foundation for the attackers. Bobby and Mane started to come right once we had a more consistent and settled defense-midfield and I think that will be key for next season.
assuming all 3 are here, then I think they will be just fine.

I think we need some goals from midfield and not sure bissouma offers that. I'd look elsewhere.

MartyMcFly, Bissouma actually offers goals and has goals in his games. The thing is that sometimes, he does not get forward or close to the box as often for Brighton cos Lallana and Trossard play ahead of him. When he can get forward, he can score goals.

Hi Oli. If he scores then great. How many did he score last season? I still think we need some creativity in there. I thought Thiago would score more goals.

Marty as I mentioned, Bissouma has goals in his repertoire and can score goals cos he has done so in the past. As I mentioned, he did not play that further forward this season cos Lallana played ahead of him. In fact he played the DM role at Anfield where he was excellent. I don’t know how many goals he scored this past season cos I don’t have the nos. cos I’m not too hung up on stats and also, that is not Bissouma’s game in the main.

As for creativity, Thiago was brought in to add creativity to our team to help Bobbie and the fullbacks so if you thought Thiago would score goals for fun then, you are barking up the wrong tree cos that is not his game even tho when he gets forward, he can score goals .
