Hi Eds, does the situation we see with some clubs such as Barcelona and Atletico, where they have players with huge salaries they need to get off their books because of deepening financial woes, provide opportunity to the likes of LFC in terms of loan deals?
Typically, LFC don't do loans withMoses and Sahin being the most recent but if, say, Atletico can't find a buyer for Saul Niguez (maybe due to wage budget restrictions), then is it possible LFC and other clubs could do more loan activity, especially LFC who do not have a treasure chest waiting to be spent?

Whilst salary would be an issue, with loan deals there would be a degree of negotiation where the parent club continues to pay part of the salary.

If we could sell squad players deemed surplus and replace with the odd signing plus an odd long term loan (ie 2 yrs) then this may help with squad depth whilst not breaking the bank as we try to recover financially from the effects of C.V..

I just don't think we play the loan market well enough and feel there could be growing opportunities for clubs like LFC.

{Ed002's Note - They need wages off the books and income coming in. Saul won't be leaving on loan unless there is someone willing to pay significantly higher than the asking price as an obligation to buy. Certainly Atletico won't be paying part of his salary.}

Ed2, just wondering what options clubs have in situations where they need to get a players wages off the books but can't. For example, what could Atletico do if they couldn't sell Saul at all? Would they have to keep him and just take the hit?

{Ed002's Note - Typically if it were critical they would sell another (Atletico have four players who there would be serious interest in if available) or would sell fringe players and work their way through it.}
