Best team won in the end, best team the whole tournament England thought they had I'd won after Shaws goal, down to poor management at the end of the day stats don't lie Italy had more possession and created more shots on target we all know pens are a lottery but at the end of the day it was the right result footballs coming to Rome not home.

About 5 mins before they scored I said to the Mrs that this is why we wouldn't win. We dominated the first half and mancini (the better tactical manager) turned the game on its head and didn't look back, we had no answer and left it down to the lottery that's the pens. Have a decent tactical manager in our dugout and I think we see them off.

But I never thought I'd see England in a final, no idea if I'll see it again but those boys did well to get there. It's just gutting they couldn't see it through.

The best team of the tournament won, fair play.

{Ed014's Note - absolutely

Southgate is just Alan Partridge in disguise. He’ll never win a major tournament as he lacks the tactical nous. With any luck he ends up managing Man United.

{Ed014's Note - that would be hilarious!

Feel for Rashford, Sancho and Saka. We all know what's coming on their social media as the keyboard warriors revert to type.

Yeah it's almost as if we weren't two lottery punts away from winning our first tournament in decades, love to know who his replacement will be, worst part about england is the support thinking they can do better than a final whilst sat at home ignoring divorce papers.

I do hope we are not reading about death threats in the next 24 hours. A penalty shoot out is a lottery.
It was bad management imo Rashford + Sancho barely kicked a ball this tournament and sadly Saka telegraphed his spot kick.
We paid the price for our negativity, Italy had 2 of the oldest centre backs both on yellow cards yet we never took advantage.

So luck finally ran out on Tony Pulis in a Waist Coat, I reckon. The guy is who we all knew and thought he was. Don't lest this fraud fool you. England literally "HOSTED" the Euros with all the advantages that come with being the host nation and still could not get it done. If England think this is some kind of new dawn, they are in dream land. The lessons are there to be learned BUT I doubt they will learn cos well, it's England. They are not interested in actually winning things unlike the Italians, Brazilians, Argies, French, Germans etc.

Italy may not have had the best players in their team (France did and flopped) BUT they had the best TEAM and group of players who sacrificed everything for their team mates and came together, stuck together thru thick and thin, fought for each other and got it done.
