We can only sign non home grown players after we atlesst have verbal agreement to sell one from current squad. most likelyhood 2 or all 3 of Shaq Origi and Mina would be sold. leaving 3 space in the squad. then we will see incoming.

Thus spoke Zarathustra.

2.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 06:39:50
Not Necessarily. We can sign and then not include Origi or Shaqiri in the squad if you couldn’t offload them. We can’t depend on Origi and Shaqiri to leave for someone to come in.

Yes sinwave! Great shout! 150k a week (7.8mil a year) up the swanny for 2 players we can’t include in the team. Now that is financial genius! You should write to Micky Edwards and share your genius plan!

4.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 07:25:43
Sinwave, in theory the club can do that but as all the Rds have repeatedly said the club is skint. No way do they sign a non HG player and leave another sitting kicking his heels on full pay for 5 months. No way to run a business.

5.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 07:50:31
You don't get it. do you? Those two are not wanted. period. it doesn't matter if they are on a wage or not. Edwards is the one who gave Origi a 5-year contract which is why we are struggling today.
so what do you reckon instead? we keep waiting until someone turns up and buys our fringe players for us to sign a new player lol.
what if they are sold on the last day lol. we should conclude our incomings for Klopp to start working with them.

6.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 08:21:44
When you say “our” fringe players sinwave/ Harry you mean our players as in Liverpool supporters! You don’t get it do you.

7.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 08:39:31
What if we can't sell them sinwave? We carry the extra wages? Then next transfer season if our new signing doesn't work out the way you like, you put him aside and carry his extra wage too? The players mentioned are not bad players. We can't sell then we have to use them.

Not having a go here. I badly want a new cm. But we can't take the risks you mention when the business is under financial strain. You have to act responsibly.

8.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 09:14:01
Sinwave, I have to say you are spot on, I don’t get ‘it’. I simply have no idea what you are on about at all.

Wasting money on players who aren’t included in the squad is, economically speaking, absolutely, totally stupid. It DOES matter because we don’t have money to waste or spend at the moment.

Banging on about contracts that were agreed years ago is completely irrelevant - it has happened, it is history, move on. You could say that the club has learned it’s lesson - we aren’t handing out many contracts outside of the existing squad are we
?

All that said, I love your posts, they certainly are thought provoking - keep up the good work.

What position does Zarathustra play ArAy?

{Ed001's Note - he changed the game mate, took it from many up top, to just one up top. Now there is a gag so obscure no one will get it.}

10.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 09:29:29
Origi and shakiri can go on loan if we can't shift them in order to bring non home grown players if needed. It's not that difficult. Think people are over-thinking and over-reacting and clinging on every small things to suit their agenda.

{Ed001's Note - you have to find someone willing to loan them that they are willing to join.}

11.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 09:32:18
Wow this page has gone up several intellectual notches.
I admit I had to Google it though 🤣🤣.

{Ed001's Note - does a gag even work when everyone has to google it to figure it out?}

12.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 09:34:56
Klopp would have made it absolutely clear who he wishes to keep and who is surplus. the rest lies with the club and the player's agent to find a new home.
We have to sell them or loan them to another club and omit them from the squad. The club shouldn't be in this position in the first place.
I cannot believe Liverpool FC is waiting for two fringe players to be sold to sign one.

13.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 09:52:30
Ed1 mate if we are willing to loan them out don't you think they will have many suitors to take them? Think Midtable teams won't have problem paying their wages and acquiring their services where Origi and Shaq will have opportunities to play consistently.

{Ed001's Note - why would anyone want to take Shaq? He can't stay fit. And which club would consider Origi when he is desperate to stay here?}

14.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 10:01:34
I doubt anyone would touch Origi with bare hands. The guy hasn't stepped his foot inside the football pitch for nearly an year. we should take the money and run if we get any.

15.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 10:18:11
Harry would you give it a rest with the whinging and moaning about the club and the players.

16.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 10:28:20
Without joining in this eruditious debate may I remind everyone that, last summer, Marko Grujic came within minutes of being a surplus, highly paid but non-playing member of our club before Mr. Edwards pulled a loan move to Porto out of the hat.

17.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 10:38:56
In fairness we are paying them to sit on a bench and play little to no football. So paying them the same to sit in the stand to play no football isn’t that much of a difference.

18.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 10:41:11
The best thing about signing a player like Zarathustra is that if he doesn't work out, you can always sell him on for a prophet.

19.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 10:52:41
Good point to be fair JK23. But at least while they're sitting on the bench they're available to be used. I don't blame the players not wanting to take a paycut because who would?

20.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 11:25:02
Thought teams like soton, west ham, Norwich, Watford, Brentford, etc would've snapped our hands to have that kind of experience in their team without taking any risks in-terms of transfer fee. Jesse Lingard didn't do that bad at west ham. Origi is a good player when he plays consistently and has unbelievable eye for goals tho.

21.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 11:56:58
Clearly, Harry has either NO idea how complicated these things are or he simply does not care. The fact that he just said we should not include both guys in the squad and just pay them to do nothing (just like Utd have done with Phil Jones for years) is testament to this.

Phil Jones hasn't left Utd for a reason. No club would pay his wages and cos he is crap. Origi and Shaq actually have offers BUT just maybe if the club stopped pricing them out of moves then maybe we would get somewhere BUT that is not what Harry is here for, is it?

And please Harry, stop lecturing LFC fans about anything cos you sir, are NOT an LFC fan so keep your lectures to yourself cos a lot of us stopped caring about what you actually think a LONG while ago.

04 Aug 2021 12:31:01
Sorry, Ed001 and fellow posters. Not my fault if I was paying attention in class, like 50 years ago. And the rest of you have you were busy playing pocket billiards. Obscure? Hardly obscure. You all learnt something new. Beats reading about Ed0666's and Barry's bromance any day of the week. 😉😂.

23.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 12:56:51
So, we are in a major public health crisis, EPL clubs will double their losses this financial year, the French League is near collapse, and perennial stalwarts like Barcelona and Real Madrid are in financial disarray, to name just a few examples. And here we are, being told that a club (anywhere on the footballing globe) doesn't care if a player is "on a wage or not". Theatre of the truly absurd.

24.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 13:02:03
Jack that’s like saying he scored all his winning goals in the last minute. You either succeed in your job or you don’t and clearly Edwards succeeded with that loan.

25.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 13:28:39
Oh mane mane that’s very true mate. As they say money makes the world go round and as someone else correctly pointed out would we as fans leave a job for less money. The answer to this would almost certainly be no every time. The only way for me the answer would be yes would be if the circumstances meant 1. I was moving job to do something I actually loved (in their case to actually play football week In week out) and 2. Money was no object as I was already made for life and my new job was offering more than what 95% of everyone else in the world earns a week despite it being less than what I’m currently on.

I’m sorry I love football but any footballer who is defended on not taking a pay cut to play week in week out over pay is just an excuse. When you look at the grand scheme of things it might mean a player earns 10 million pounds over 4 years rather than 12 million pounds. Everyone should just let that sink in.

04 Aug 2021 13:55:56
1jj, must have been something in the wording, I fully agree on Edwards, I think the guy is a genius, I was pointing out how close we are to the repeat situation, albeit with 27 days to go.

27.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 17:48:20
I'm not defending them JK23 but I do understand their reluctance to move. Origi for example has 1 year left on the big contract given to him after the CL final and will be 26, with no fee to be paid for him so can look for bigger wages again next summer. Me personally I'd sooner play but everyone is different.

{Ed001's Note - that's not why Origi doesn't want to leave. He loves it in Liverpool, it has become his home and he loves the club, it has become the club he supports. He is settled and happy. Not every player just chases money.}

28.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 18:32:41
If Origi wants to stay at the club he now loves and supports and in the city he loves and is settled in then, what the problem? Ed02 said that if there is no offer for him, the club will keep him. He seems to be well loved and respected in the DR by the coaches and players and Klopp will never push him out. I’m cool with it especially since he is actually doing good charity work in the city.

29.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 18:49:08
Don't misunderstand me Ed I'm not saying he's "chasing money". As OliRed says he does a lot of good charity work in the city so any drop in income could affect that side of his life. That's what I meant by getting a bigger wage because, like Mane in Senegal, Divock gives back. And if he wants to stay and use a portion of his dosh for that then I personally have no problem with it.

30.) 05 Aug 2021
05 Aug 2021 07:48:15
Oh mane mane sorry mate I didn’t mean to imply that you were defending them. I just meant in general when fans say it. I’m a further note great to hear Origi does lots of charity work and i tip my hat to him.
