In my Humble opinion Jack Grealish is not a £100m footballer Man city has grossly overpaid for a player that still has plenty in his game to improve.

Harry Kane needs to stop acting like a baby and return to training, if he wants a move this is not the right way of going about it.

Liverpool tying down there best players to new contracts is good news but of course that has to be paid for.

Before Klopp leaves us my hope is that we have 3 or 4 players breaking through from the reserves TAA style, Fingers crossed that Curtis Jones gets more minutes this season than last season.

With all that we had to endure last season we still finished 3rd so i am confident that if we can keep all of our top players fit we can challenge once again for the major trophies.

It will be interesting to see what the squad looks like after the transfer window closes, until then i shall remain patient as regards to incomings and outgoings.

Finally as regards to VAR and the new interpretations of the laws i still come to the conclusion that it should be scrapped altogether, having Lee Mason and Mike Reilly working together is a recipe for disaster.

Manchester City able to spend £100,000,000 on a player who is not guaranteed his place in the England XI shows just how hard it is to financially compete with them.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs don't need to be able to "financially compete". Liverpool can sell players to raise funds.}

Agreed on Grealish. I think he’s an excellent player but it is a standstill signing as far as City are concerned. Grealish is not an outlet so won’t provide the penetration City are missing (something that Kane unquestionably would) . One thing that will be irksome is Grealish’s ability to win free-kicks, which ties in perfectly with what Guardiola instructs his teams to do. Lastly, 100m is daylight robbery.

Ed002 - seriously, what are you on about?

{Ed002's Note - It is the usual whining about about every other club. If Liverpool were to sell players to raise funds then you can get your desire to spend on the "marquee" signings everyon obsesses over.}

@polecat: point taken, it was wrong then and its wrong now.

I do find it funny that Grealish has taken Kane's dream move away, Daniel Levy will be a tough nut to crack if his price is not met, Kane will either have to accept his move might be delayed by a year or get his agent to scour europe looking for a buyer, why sign a extension to a contract if you have no intention of honoring it? Surely he knew his chances of trophy winning with Spurs were slim at best, especially since he disappears in every final he plays in.

Sorry Ed002, I know we don't like to speak numbers (my post that was removed effectively was comparing income, wages and spend between Man City and effectively asking the question why do we need to sell but they don't) .

I'm guessing I've forgotten about the stadium regeneration and also the new training complex which does infringe our capacity to spend. The choices of the owners and their stewardship of Liverpool FC also impacts how transfers are operated, which I'm presuming is vastly different in approach to the board and ownership of Man City's.

It's like comparing chalk and cheese.

Man City can buy all the players they like but can still only field 11 players and in all honesty Sergio Augero is a better player imo than Harry Kane and if they field grealish with debruyne then I think it makes them weaker defensive wise.
