I'm a massive Robertson fan but Kostas's delivery is in a league above, given the way we play do you think he's earnt the starting spot on current form Eds001.

Ed001: A very fair summary i too also thought we should have scored more goals and the more i see of that miss by Jota the worse it gets.

Its obvious that Klopp will be rotating more this season so to have a brand new back line and still keep a clean sheet is a massive plus.

I was very critical of Mane vs Leeds but i have to say he was back to his best vs Palace, keeping the ball in tight areas whipping crosses in, and linking up well with Kostas.

What more does Mo Salah have to do to stop people doubting his ability? the guy is on a another level, not even 4 men can stop him, he has always worked hard but his new party peice is ruining the opposite winger whilst doing defensive duties.

I was happy to see Curtis Jones come on as i like the unpredictability his play brings.

I agree with what you said about Keita and that goal has got him out of jail from another poor cameo, I would start him against Norwich Midweek and see how he gets on.

Finally Ed001: I would love to hear your thoughts about the refs performance, he obviously did not get the memo about keeping the game flowing, i did not see one bad tackle during the game yet he blew up every chance he got.

I do not condone it but i was not surprised when Joel Ward got booked for swearing at him, it was frustrating for me to watch so i can only imagine what the players thought.

Roll on Brentford a game that will bring different challenges and a reunion with Canos.

Its been a very good start to the season both at home and in Europe and there is plenty more still to come.

I am not getting carried away but i am also not writing us off either, all the players and Klopp seem to be up for it and that is good enough for me.

{Ed001's Note - the refs as a whole have been awful this weekend, every single one of them in the games I watched were terrible.}

Ed001 that is a great summary, I agree with everything you have put, I was worried about milly and I know a few in the ground around me were nervous about Zaha v Milner. Boy did he take Zaha back to school, his performance was amazing, also salah is now the I reckon at saurez levels, he is the person we look to to lead us on moving forward, I loved his celebrations after his goal, the atmosphere in the ground was electric when he scored.

{Ed001's Note - I think Salah has moved past Suarez level, as he has done it so consistently for year after year for us.}

I don't understand the Jones bashing personally. I think he has massive potential and has a tremendous future with the club. I will admit that early on, I was not a Henderson fan at all. I was very late to appreciate him. It was really when he started having the problem with his feet that kept him out of the side that I saw what a positive impact he made. There really is a drop in quality when Henderson is not playing in my view.

I agree regarding Jota, since his return from injury I think his overall play hasn’t been the best but he’s made up for that with a decent goal return, now the goals have dried up I do worry.
Before he got injured I thought we had a long term replacement for one of the front 3 but now I’m not so sure, hopefully it’s just a blip and his goals return and general play improve.

And he's done it without sinking his teeth into arms legs hands and other parts of the human anatomy.

Cobra666: Keep the faith with Jota, he is being coached by one of the very best and he is getting a birds eye view of what world class brillance looks like by playing with Salah.

He has many aspects of his game that need improving but i am confident he will do so given time.

Lets face it if it was not for his horror miss he would have bagged another goal on Saturday and this conversation would be different.

I truly hope we add Sarr from Watford to the frontline and let him learn from Mane.

Jota is just going through a bad spell that’s all. It’s a very long season, players will be up and down.

Jota’s off form and we’ve broken the record for Attempts on goal in the opening 5 games and we’re sat joint top with 12 goals. Imagine how good we’ll be when he comes back into form. Bobby Is due back soon so that’ll gives us even more options from the bench and squad as 1 will be able to rotate. For me though out of the 4 Salah and Mane are must starters and then it’s a straight shoot out between Bobby and Jota for the other place.
But them pair have now proven that they can do it with either Bobby or Jota alongside them which for us is great. Because at one point it was believed that Without Bobby the pair of them would struggle to tie their own laces.

I agree with everything you said eds1 especially the points about jota. He looks a bit lost. I mean he is an absolute poacher but even that’s not happening. To hit a ball over the crossbar the way he did was unbelievable. The other point about keita coming on before Jones. Let’s face it klopp knows his stuff but a sub like that does confuse me. Keita just does not work hard enough even when we are 2-0 up.

{Ed001's Note - I am sure Jota will come good again, moments like that have happened to even the great Ian Rush.}

Great read as always, Ed. I also had the impression that Palace had some good chances but like you said, it was more about the jitters with the new back 4 that caused it rather than Palace cutting us open.

Also, I will never understand the slander Jones gets from our own fans. The kid is an absolute baller who makes thing happen with the ability to boot. Fergie must have bashed him in one of his books cos that’s what happened to Hendo and his detractors haven’t let up since even after he has proved them royally wrong.

Jota? He is just going thru a bad patch where he is snatching at things cos that chance he missed was just insanely bad and the more you see it, the worse it gets. He’ll be okay with time.

As for Salah and Suarez? It’s not worth the time anymore, IMO. Salah all day long. Cheers, mate.

{Ed001's Note - cheers OR.}
