I'm happy for the Newcastle fans. I'm sure that the majority of the ones with any morals would have preferred money from a more popular source but they are such a well supported club and the fans have been through it over the last decade or so.
I really miss the games we had against them in them back in the Keegan days the 4-3's they were proper games ;)
Bring them on and let's see what they got!

It’s incredible to think the Saudi’s are about to “invest” as much into Newcastle United as they did 9/ 11.

George Bush Jr was never known for his intellectual ability. In fact it’s fair to say he’s thicker than a Boxing Day turd.

Weeeeeelll I think it was more the stupidity of Congress that allowed themselves to be so easily conned into the widespread war.

I find it hard to really get wound up about the ethics of the Saudi’s coming in, as deplorable and repugnant as they are, when there is already so much of it in football that needs stopping already. I don’t feel as though it is fair for us fans to suddenly lift a finger and take issue with this now when the whole thing is rotten. Within the current system Newcastle and their owners are only doing what is permitted and what has already been done numerous times before. You either bin the whole system and give control to the fans, or crack on and enjoy football for what it is now. I find the Russian Oligarchs like Abramovich to be equally as deplorable, as their billions came from nothing but stone cold theft of the assets that the Russian people spent decades building with their blood sweat and tears. Their society is now riddled with rampant inequality and terrifyingly high levels of skyrocketing inflation and costs of living, solely because of the greed and corruption of men like Abramovich and the amnesty they have achieved with Putin. I find that to be just as disgusting as the behaviour of the Saudi’s but when Chelsea got took over the outrage was more of a minor annoyance. Now it seems that the clubs just want to protect their interests and are calling for a closed shop once again. I don’t think it’s right for us to get the hump when over the Newcastle owners because that’s exactly what Super League bunch want. Either they all go or none of them go. That’s the only way that seems fair.

So I'm taking from that there's so much corruption and despotism about now that we should just suck it up and stop whinging.

No. That’s quite literally the opposite of what i said. There’s corruption and despotism coursing through all of football from top to bottom and when talking about the Newcastle owners it should be addressed as such. All of it needs to go. People losing their heads over the Newcastle owners is exactly what the other club owners want, they want to paint them as the boogeyman to deflect from the fact that they are also cut from the same cloth. Some people have bought into this narrative and are very upset about the takeover, towing the line for the likes of Abramovich and Mansour because they can’t bear to see their success threatened by another wealthy club. In isolation this issue is nothing new, and pretending as if it is only serves the interest of the other billionaire owners who are trying to deflect from the fact that they have already ruined football with their corruption and dirty money. The Saudi’s taking over Newcastle is just another brick in the wall. All of them need to be kicked out of the english game for good.

Wherever there is money involved in sport, you will find corruption. Folks like Sepp Blatter got so used to trousering cash he forgot to try and hide it.
It takes a strong willed member of any board to turn down a huge bribe of any sort from an owner with limitless funds and zero morals.

Newcastle fans can be happy about being night by the reprehensible Saudi govt and not care about it. They should also be prepared to own everything about it and accept the banter that will come with it.
