Thanks Ed. Mostly agree but sorry Lynda Carter? Not in the same league as Daisy Duke.

{Ed001's Note - don't tell me, it is 666 who has a thing for her.}

2.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 08:20:15
Do you think this will be the side for Wednesday? With Maybe Matip coming in for Konate.

{Ed001's Note - probably.}

3.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 09:37:17
I can see two changes for the side against Everton Matip for Konate and Ox or Milly for Thiago.

4.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 10:43:52
I wondered about Thiago myself Kloppers but he seems to be a cool head and is in very good form. He also got took off early at the weekend. Picking a team is a minefield. Who knows what goes thru the managers head. He must be loving having so many fit players and so many in good form.

5.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 10:54:45
Would that lesser keeper be the one and only Aaron Ramsdale?

{Ed001's Note - are you allowed to call the media darling lesser?}

6.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 11:19:27
Can't say I've seen much of Ramsdale. I saw him against us last week obviously and the saves he made were the types thar Mignolet was capable of making. That's what's so good about Allison. He doesn't need to fling himself round like an inflating tube man. He makes the difficult seem easy.

7.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 11:24:02
Would love for you to touch upon the media darling on your next podcast ed001. The Shelvey shot that hit the crossbar was terrible positioning yet he once again flung himself for a shot that was straight down the centre and could have been easily caught.

{Ed001's Note - I thought exactly the same. If that goes in it would have been embarrassing.}

8.) 29 Nov 2021

Thanks for the Match Review Ed001 - brilliant as ever mate. I have to say, Ali is an absolutely brilliant keeper and the 1v1's he actually looks like the favourite to stop them - rather than the other way round. I know he had an off day v WHU, but he is only human (I think! ) and that's just how it is. He is brilliant and we are lucky to have him. The Ramsdale "love in" is a joke - he just dives theatrically and the media just assume that is a great save. There was a save Ali made against Arsenal - that actually looked like it was going in when the lad hit it and Ali just tipped it round - he didn't even dive! He is great, but no drama so no plaudits. I just hope we beat EFC on Wednesday - I know all the obvious pointers show we should win easily, but we know they will likely raise their game and maybe even be a bit OTT in the physical aspects. Fingers crossed #YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - I agree mate, but the media love a crap keeper making easy saves look difficult.}

9.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 13:19:19
After watching the last couple of games, I think us fans should really take stock of how lucky we are to have a keeper of Ali's ability between the sticks. I think what made it so frustrating for me against WHU, is that we have just become so used to him being so good, but as said above, everyone has off days. He has no fear when going into the 1 v 1's and his timing is absolutely spot on. I guess playing against the likes of Salah and Mane in training helps.

{Ed001's Note - that is a brilliant point that stuie, it must be a big help to face the best every day.}

29 Nov 2021 14:35:42
Agree with everything as per Ed001. Like you say we seem to be hitting form at just the right time. We’ve had some rocky patches this season and many games where most players have been putting in a 6 or 7 out of 10, whereas this week everyone has been at least a 9/ 10. We’ve got a fairly easy run of fixtures and lots of players returning from injury, so hopefully we can go on a run and edge ahead of Chelsea and City, both of whom could struggle with bluntness in front of goal with injuries to Chilwell and Foden respectively. I’d still rather be sat here with the 6 points that we’ve dropped from winning positions, but there’s plenty of time to make up the ground.

{Ed001's Note - you can't win 'em all mate.}

29 Nov 2021 16:44:35
A would like to see van dyke score the winner on Wed night and just smile at pick Ford when he does.

{Ed025's Note - i think the blues supporters would like to see everton kick the living crap out of liverpool and turn to klopp and say " try moaning about hard challenges now you big german tart".. :)

13.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 16:11:23
What a challenge though for the boys, fired up without mo and mane. Pressure on Jota and Bobby I hope they’re up for it.

14.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 17:36:28
Ed what about Ward Prowse don’t you like? He has excellent technique and works hard whenever I’ve seen him. I certainly wouldn’t say he is not a premier league player.

I agree you can actually see Jota learning his role the more he plays down the centre. Seems to get many of tap ins which says a lot.

{Ed001's Note - he has good technique and that is all. He is slow, clumsy, has no reading of the game, is always out of position and lacks intelligence. Playing him is why Saints are so poor, as he lacks anything other than dead ball delivery.}

15.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 18:09:16
Ramsdale reminds me of Given, all about his agility and spring to make diving saves. But average in terms of positioning and command of the area. (And honestly I'd say Given was better anyway) .

He'll fall off a cliff starting at about 33 or 34 as his physical capabilities decline whilst Alisson will be PL level until he retires.

29 Nov 2021 18:10:05
Cheers Ed, nice reading after another big Liverpool win.
Watching the Chelsea game yesterday, and comparing James with Trent.
The Chelsea man is a fine young player but not in Trent’s class.
James gets protection from the Chelsea system when he goes forward whereas Liverpool’s method is more attack-minded and it can leave Trent looking vulnerable at the back.

I’d like to see how James would get on in our system.
He wouldn’t be seen as the better defensive option then I bet?
Btw, did I say that Thiago produced some beautiful football on Saturday? ❤️😀.

17.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 18:40:25
James is in Trent’s class. That’s just red tinted specs.

{Ed025's Note - not much between them mark your right..

18.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 19:18:52
James is a very good player, but it's not a direct like for like comparison as James plays as a wing back in a back 5.

That gives him more freedom to attack and less defensive responsibility than Trent (Trent's forward runs are noticeably less frequent this season), so it's kinda difficult to make a direct comparison, or to look at their stats and say, well Reece (or Trent, I haven't actually checked) has more assists and goals so he's better.

{Ed025's Note - the comparison SR is that they are both very talented right backs..

19.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 20:02:26
Trent has 9 Premier League goals and 40 assists, James has 5 Premier League goals and 8 assists. Yeah they are in the same class.

{Ed025's Note - james is currently englands right back and trent looking like 4th choice...you do the math..

20.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 20:07:07
There is not much in it. Both very good players. Reece James is still very much on an upward curve as well.

{Ed025's Note - i agree mark..

21.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 18:42:44
Thanks for the review Ed. Let’s hope the performance is as good on Wednesday and we cut out the errors just outside our box. Robbo and Allison were the two best players for me.

22.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 20:05:35
Thanks for the review Ed!

23.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 20:44:31
As opposed to that old man Trent eh Mark, all down hill from 23 ;)

24.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 20:53:00
4th choice RB eds25 I do hope that’s banter mate. Let’s not bring Southgate into the debate. Hope your keeping well anyway mate.

{Ed025's Note - im good thanks longthing, the fact is that southgate took 3 right backs to the euros mate and trent was not one of them, i happen to think TAA is the best of the bunch..

25.) 29 Nov 2021
29 Nov 2021 21:13:13
Ed25. James is a very good right back. But Trent is a unique talent. As for England first choice. Southgate is England manager. you do the maths.

{Ed025's Note - not much to separate them i would say alonso, i suppose it depends on what formation you are playing mate..

26.) 30 Nov 2021
30 Nov 2021 00:18:04
Reece James gets compared to Trent. Trent gets compared to Kevin De Bruyne 😂.

{Ed001's Note - people say Trent can't defend, but they forget how hideously woeful James's defending was. He is nothing like as good as Trent, he is just protected by a system set up to do exactly that. Good player, no more, whereas Trent is a great player. Nothing to do with red coloured specs, it is just actually watching them both play, rather than reading what moronic pundits have to say.}

27.) 30 Nov 2021
30 Nov 2021 02:00:40
For me Trent is the best Right Back in the world, his often-criticized defending has come on in leaps and bounds and attacking wise he always seems to have an impact. I do think James is very good too but Trent is a level above, Southgate is simply too stupid to recognize the fact. You have to question anybody picking Trippier over Trent.

28.) 30 Nov 2021
30 Nov 2021 10:18:56
Going back to the main point, BigBaz, I don’t think any of us would kick either of peak Lynda Carter or peak Catherine Bach out of bed for farting. I’m off to have a cold shower.

29.) 30 Nov 2021
30 Nov 2021 10:34:55
According to you Ed and posters on here we have the best and great players all over the pitch. We should win everything.
Best manager
Best rb
Best gk
Best defender
Best holding midfielder
Best player in the world
Best false 9 or whatever it’s called.
What happened to Trent last year? We should just praise our own players. Reece James is on a sharp upward curve if u can’t see that I can’t help you.

You can’t use an argument about team set ups to justify an answer. Trent is massively helped in our system to allow him to showcase his talents.

{Ed001's Note - what is your point? You are twisting things as usual. No one has said James isn't improving. And having the best 11 only wins everything if they are all fit and on form. It is a squad game these days.

Oh and I can use that argument, but it clearly is beyond you as usual because you think you know better than everyone else. It is boring as you don't. Trent is so well helped that the space in behind him is open and everyone moans about it, but that is missed by you because you are too busy trying to find reasons to hate on him. Jesus you are whiny as Harry these days. So busy trying to slag off our players you fail to appreciate anything good.}

30 Nov 2021 10:51:19
Great read, Ed. As for Ali, I remember what Andy Lonergan said about him when he was asked how it was training with him every day. I quote, "However good you think Alisson is, he is actually much better than that" or something like that and I FULLY believe it. The guy is the most fundamentally sound GK I have seen since Van Der Sarr at Ajax in the 90's and as a former goalie (as a kid), I watch his footwork, his agility off his line, his sense of anticipation and impeccable timing and positioning. They are off the charts, IMO. The guy has it ALL.

As for the perf., a couple of hairy moments and mainly down to individual brain farts BUT apart from that, we battered them into submission and that is the way it went. On to Everton and we should play the very same team with Matip in for Konate.

As for the whole James/ Trent debate, Ed25 is correct (small correction ED25: Trent did not go to the Euros cos he was injured) . As Ed25 said, Trent is the best of the bunch and Reese is going to need to play a lot better and improve cos vs Utd, he was bang average, IMO.

31.) 30 Nov 2021
30 Nov 2021 05:22:34
James in the same league as Trent is the same when you said that Pickford was at Ali's level Ed025; You do have to appreciate the Scouse sense of humour.

{Ed025's Note - i still maintain there is not much between them john, trent is great going forward and his crosses are quality most of the time, but defensively he gets caught out of position at times and is prone to the odd brain fart, james has a solid all around game mate..

32.) 30 Nov 2021
30 Nov 2021 11:28:39
I never said Trent isn’t the better player we all agree on that but Reece is not far behind and improving. And to use hideous woeful is embarrassing on your your part. Your are the most red tinted supporter ever.

33.) 30 Nov 2021
30 Nov 2021 11:31:45
It’s absolutely typical of that that I say there is not too much between the players and you take that I am whining. You dare anyone have a different point of view 🤦‍♀️.

34.) 30 Nov 2021
30 Nov 2021 12:11:12
Trent ia best suited to liverpool tactics and James to Chelsea . that's it . Its how it is.

Ha ha VVVV yeah I agree. I think Lynda Carter gets more credit coz she's a super hero fans ideal woman. But daisy Duke, come on its Daisy Duke for crying out loud.
