Btw i would have given it to Lewandowski myself but there is no way Messi or Ronaldo fc were better than Lewe or Salah these past 12 months.

The last 4 years the Balon D’or has been an absolute joke. Agreement was pretty much unanimous that the last four winners should have been Salah, van Dijk, Lewandowski and then Lewandowski again but the powers that be are clearly not interested in meritocracy. How can Modric win a Balon D’or on the basis of winning the Champions League and getting to a World Cup final (despite Croatia being crap for most of that run), but Messi gets given it for winning the square root of nothing with an awful Barcelona side? How can it be fair that Lewandowski’s achievement was chalked off because of C.V. football, but Messi’s win is acceptable when all of his good form this year came during the C.V. football phase? The hypocrisy and double standards are laughable. It hasn’t been anything more than a sycophant personality contest for a while now.
