Everybody loves a derby because of the good natured rivalry, but how do we keep it professional?
Remembered a game where Steve G came on and came off in minutes - the only thing he achieved was a stamp on an Evertonian.
Yesterday's match had 7 yellow cards and enough bad blood. Only those in the stadium really enjoy such physicality.
Another win.
We just need to maintain form and ensure we beat Man City and Chelsea when next we play.
There is everything to play for.

I think you're thinking about man United mate when he was sent off for a stamp. I remember him being sent off for crunching Kevin Campbell and another one for 2 yellow cards but I'm sure he started both them games.

Gerrard was sent off against United only seconds after coming on as a sub.
And as for keeping it professional, on the whole our players do mainly keep their heads. I can understand the frustration of the Everton players though as they're under pressure from their fans and are often on the wrong of a good shoeing.

To be fair, 3 of those yellows last night were as a result of dives.

This is not a Liverpool problem. Liverpool’s discipline has been the best in the league in every season that Klopp has been in charge - we never go into matches looking to hurt, injure or even roughhouse the opposition. The same can’t be said of our opponents. In fact, we’ve had 4 red cards given to our opponents already this season (all of which were deserved and the number should be more like 10).

By contrast, Everton are a hotheaded, indisciplined outfit that purposely try to harm our players every time we play against them. I was certain we’d win yesterday, my only concern was that we’d come out of the game with 2 or 3 injuries as a result of a typical Everton offering. Thankfully, that didn’t happen.

{Ed025's Note - no lowel all your player are angels and butter would,nt melt, my biggest disappointment about last night is that we did,nt kick the living crap out of your media darlings mate..

Facts are facts, Ed - Liverpool are a team with a superb disciplinary record and that’s that.
I don’t think you’re alone in having that viewpoint, Ed, I reckon an alarming number of your fans relish the annual opportunity to assault our players in front of a baying Goodison. Last season your attempts worked and our season fell apart directly as a result, something that was no doubt pure joy to a lot of Evertonians.
This time your players were too outclassed to even get near enough to do anything reckless.

{Ed025's Note - its just a fact of life lowel, if a team is too good for you then what do you do...stand and admire them?, no you resort to any tactics necessary to thwart them and if that means kicking lumps out of them then so be it, unfortunately this everton side has not got even that in their locker mate..

I didn't see one tackle last night where you could say a player went to "do" an opponent.

{Ed025's Note - nor me mate...i wish.. :)

@Leumas - Everton’s day in the sun is a pre-season friendly in Majorca next July.

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that WDW..

Ed025 will be 104?

No I’m sorry I don’t agree, there’s no way they have their day in the sun in 6 years time… ;)

{Ed025's Note - hey smp!!!, kick a man when hes down why dont you!!!..

Ed025 - why are you advocating violent conduct on the pitch? How about the players play football, instead of resorting to being di*kheads? They're professional footballers after all.

{Ed025's Note - in the land of unicorns and golden daffodils you may be right mate, but this is the real world and you do what you have to do by fair means or foul, all is fair in love and football BBB..

The game was a clean game, IMO. Now with all that said, all I want to ask Ed25 is whether he knows if Merseyside Police have captured the sniper who shot Gray, Townsend et al? I'll wait.

{Ed025's Note - there was a grassy knoll just to the left of the bullens road oli but thats another story, there were a couple of dives mate but the are born out of frustration of not being as good as your opponents, i would take that as a compliment..

I think people are getting a little ahead of themselves here. LFC have given it just as much as Everton have in the past. Last night didn't have any malicious tackles compared to previous years and frustration is expected when getting well beaten by anyone, let alone your local rivals. Also, fair play to Ed025, he hasn't hidden from any of it and has taking it in his stride. I personally miss the days where the derby was tightly contested, made it exciting watching it with my dad who's a blue, now I just feel sorry for him!

{Ed025's Note - we dont want your sympathy stuie, we want your players mate.. :)
