Torres to Chelsea hurt me the most.

{Ed0666's Note - I wonder what an El Niño & Suarez partnership would have been like? Maybe they would have dovetailed seamlessly or maybe they would have got in each other way we’ll never know?

Yeah Torres to Chelsea was an absolute kick to the balls. When Gerrard nearly signed for them as well I almost gave up on football!

Just a discussion of the word “transfers” seems to break some fans hearts on here.

For me

Rush to Juve
Torres to Chelsea
Baloteli, Borini and Lambert being signed to replace Suarez.

Aguero to city!

Torres and saurez being realistic!

Souness and Rush off to Italy. Both hurt equally 😭.

Hands down Fowler to Leeds. He's still my favourite player of the past players, with King Kenny being the best person!

Would have loved to have seen Torres and Suarez together.
Around the same a tad jealous of seeing Silva and Aguero join City.

And don't forget the CR7 shambles by Parry and co.

Torres to Chelsea. Premier League team is always worse.

Mario Balotelli to where ever he disappeared off to.

I remember Owen going to Madrid, I was in the airport and overheard some guys talking about it, it was the fact we got Nunez in a swap deal that was most disappointing!

Torres leaving was the other Biggie.

Probably the last one that bothered me was Lucas leaving just because he seemed to be such a great character.

Salah on a free to.

Suarez hurt not because it wasn’t expected but because of the manner it which it happened. The stunt at the World Cup was just not necessary at all and I very much felt at the time that all the progress and momentum we had built was gone in an instant, Brendan had begun to show signs of arrogance and incompetence and i didn’t trust him to rebuild the side with the money at all. That whole season made me sick to my stomach just because I could see it all unravelling from a mile away.

In terms of the emotional shock and pain i felt when a player left, it had to be Torres. Even though he had been playing poorly and looked past it, seeing him jump ship to Chelsea for silly money really stung. It felt like the end of days.

I’m still waiting on Simao.

For me nothing compared to alonso moving to RM. That one stung like a. word I can't use on this site so ll just use blueberry.

It stung like a motherblueberry. It started with blueberring Gareth Barry fiasco and eventually replaced by the constantly blueberried aquilani. Neither fit to wipe the orange off Alonso s boots.

Suarez didn't bother me. Soon as he bit cellini I wanted him gone, it should have been long before that too. Have to admit I had the blinkers on at the time because of how good he was. Now I'm embarrassed he ever represented the club.

20.) 09 Dec 2021

Fowler to Leeds was almost tear inducing.
Alonso to Madrid .
Aldo to Sociedad.
Andy Carroll and Balotelli to Liverpool. Just knew they wouldn’t work out.
I’ll update the last ones if we ever sign Renato Sanches. 😳.

Any of Roy's signings!

Torres to Chelsea was the only time football broke my heart. I had to put a couple of shirts in a clothes skip and the walls were a right state from all the blue tack ripped off. All that chipped paint was a constant reminder every night that happiness is only temporary. Never catching feelings for a transient employee ever again!

ED666, I think it was the plan to bring Suarez in to play WITH Torres until he threw a strop and put in a transfer request at the last minute and well, you know the rest.

As for the transfer that broke my heart, it has to be Alonso to RM. For me, that was a complete disaster and should have never happened esp. after we got Alberto Aquilani in as his replacement.

{Ed0666's Note - I don’t begrudge Alonso leaving he went on to win tonnes with Madrid & Bayern. He wouldn’t have done that with us mate. Instead of the transfer that broke your heart What about the transfers you couldn’t wait to happen. For me it was Phil Babb & Paul Konchesky

Assuming you’re talking about players you couldn’t wait to leave Ed0666? Feel bad saying this about him because we’ve had players with way worse attitudes but the most frustrating player i’ve ever watched for Liverpool was Moreno.

We’ve had poor players, selfish players, lazy players but none match Moreno in terms of sheer incompetence. Watching him play football was like watching Johnny Depp’s character trying to function in ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’. Was convinced he was in the grip of a biblical concoction of narcotics every time he stepped onto the field, always electing to do something outrageous and wild over keeping it simple. Played like a Labrador that had been dropped on its head at birth and then pumped full of methadone. Was always at least 5 yards out of position, took on shots from impossible angles approximately 50% of the time he was in the opposition half, would make a handful of stupid unnecessary challenges a game; my personal favourite being in the first leg against Dortmund when he ran the length of the pitch to snap the Dortmund right back, who had the ball at the corner flag. Made me want to pull my hair out.

He never seemed like a bad guy and the consensus seemed to be that he did really care and was just not good enough, hence why he seemed to stick around way longer than he ever should have done. Having said that, one has to wonder if he ever actually listened in training? Is it possible to passionately care about the club and still choose to self-sabotage the efforts of the team every weekend, seemingly never making the effort to take on board criticism and improve?

Glad he left with a Champions League to his name and happy for him now that he seems to be doing well with Villareal, but my god am i happy we have Tsimikas now.

Christian Poulsen terrible buy,
Milan Jovanavic

I need to stop now as it reminds me of an era I never ever wanted to remember again.

I am surprised to see Torres on Chelsea here so much. To get that much money for a player that hadn't really done well for us for a while seemed like good business to me. I think Carragher has publicly said so too.

28.) 10 Dec 2021
10 Dec 2021 17:57:12
Istvan Kozma and Nicky Tanner

Someone had an envelope for that pair signing for us i.

{Ed0666's Note - more than one envelope mate

Gerrard houlier buying el hadj diouf instead of signing anelka from loan. he was banging them in. Absolute joke that.
