Seems really strange we've not got this spurs game called off. They've had an outbreak and we've had an outbreak. I can only assume we think that there may be more of a problem at the spurs end than ours so think let's play and hope there's an advantage there?

We've called off our u23 game this morning probably because we're calling up players for the squad v spurs. I think Antonio Conte is probably being sly and almost all their first 11 will be back having had a 2 week break with a mild cold and we're going there without 4 starting 11 players including the worlds best player, the worlds best center back, fabinho and our captain.

OP, I agree with you last paragraph. IMO, if there was a game that needed to have been called off, it should have been the Chelsea/ Everton game. How they have allowed that game to go ahead with Everton playing pretty much their academy team for the most part, is disgraceful.

As for our game, Spurs do not have the advantage here, IMO. We do. We have been in rhythm and have been playing high intensive games while they have not been playing and most importantly, have not been training for the most part over the two weeks so that evens things out a bit. Either way, we already knew that Fab and VVD would not play so we would have prepared accordingly.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not sure fab & Virgil are 100% out?

Klopp has talked about being transparent and we will see if it was all horse dung or not I suppose. Either way he’s had nothing from conte and we don’t know if anyone of their 11 will be missing I can’t tell you 1 player of theirs that’s had C.V.. And I also expect they’ve trained specifically for us knowing exactly which players they will have available.

Mild cold? Do you not remember the dip in form from our players when they got it last year?
I’ve had it twice, once it was really nasty and the other time barely noticeable, but it’s the lingering after effects that are the worst thing for me, just taking the edge off your health for months and months, imagine being a pro athlete and getting 10% of your fitness knocked off.

Mikey 1985 is comparing himself to a pro athlete here 😂 obviously the pro athletes will have it worse than you did and not easier because you’re much healthier and fitter. No everyone gets it different but I’d expect most won’t of even noticed they had it as klopp said in his press. Man flu knocks us all about mate and yes it will make a difference to the players even if they don’t know they have it or have symptoms. The only thing I remember from last year is we were top of the league at Christmas then we had a load of acls but I don’t think C.V. can be blamed for those.

Ed0666 they have C.V. mate don’t they?

{Ed0666's Note - yes mate but they may have tested negative.

Tested daily I believe now so a negative test means isolation ends for “elite athletes”

It’s just as mere mortals that have to isolate even though where double jabbed and boostered and return a negative test…. Well in Scotland anyway

Of course politicians are classed as elite athletes as well….
