I think Salah will sign a new contract which will be announced on the last day of the transfer window. The fact we signed no one this month will then be forgotten. FSG aren't wealthy because they are stupid.

Yes quite good at deflecting unwanted energy aren't they, tell ya wat they done well keeping fans hoodwinked into believing this squad is evolving instead of regressing, is it klopp who likes the small squad with not much change? Fsg being super stingy an not backing klopp? Or a bit ov both? Which ever way this squad needed signings 3 years ago to prepare for now other teams are always only a big transfer window away.

hailstones - it's a small squad? now I know you're just not talking reality. it's hard to have a proper convo when you're just not talking reality.

Is it really a small squad?

GK
Alisson, Kelleher, Adrian,

RB
Trent, Neco

CB
VVD, Matip, Gomez, Konate, Phillips

LB
Robertson, Tsimikas

CDM/ CM
Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson, Keita, Ox, Milly, Jones, Elliot

Attackers
Salah, Mane, Jota, Firmino, Taki, Origi

A few youngster not included either. I wouldn’t call having 26 members of the first team a small squad. the only reason anyone has there knickers in a twist is because Afcon is on. you take that out the equation nobody says anything.

The squad is plenty big.

The question is keeping midfielders fit and whether our backup forwards are up to muster.

OK the same unreliable players for 3 years without replacing them, you would think we use a small squad as there is no faith in the back up the likes of neco, taki, origi, keita, ox leading to us overplaying the 1st 11, the likes of trent, fabihno, hendo, Bobby need capable stand ins but our squad has never been truly trusted to play the above mentioned .

We are all expecting Williams, Phillips, Origi, Karius, Milner and Adrian to leave this summer. Along with the possibility that some of Firmino, Mane, Keita, Ox or even Tiago as well.

I do believe some quality players will be signed this summer. In addition I expect some deals for youngsters such as Carvallho (Fulham) and Munai who are both on free transfers.

@Hailstones the same unreliable players for the past three years during which time we achieved the second highest points total in th3 league (whilst finishing second), we won the league, we won the champions league and the world club championship etc, etc.

Your support of the club, the owners, coaching staff, players and everything that the club is supposed to stand for is a shining light for us all to follow.

YNWA unless we don’t sign the players I want eh?

ok so it looks like hailstones agrees we do have a full squad. well how could you not because that is an objective fact. But hailstones is anxious about the quaality which we can all debate.

Now why is it FSG's fault then? it's not their job to sign the players. That is up to Edwards and co.

This is getting a little boring now. No offence to anyone but the constant bitching about FSG and our squad. It's like an episode of loose women lol 😆.

Squads not small but it’s very much quantity over quality. Need 2 top midfielders and forwards.

From that list above by the start of next season we have the maximum of 25 senior players allowed in a Premier League squad. that's WITHOUT Karius and the returning Ojo, Davies and Woodburn which will be 29.Obviously a few will leave or have contracts run out but its not quantity. I wouldn't even say its quality, certainly not with the first 11.When we have our usual defence and attack with Fab, Thiago and 1 more in midfield we've as gud an 11 as anyone. After that, we all know is the big difference between us and City. But in fairness City have probably the best squad ever assembled in England. We could easily afford to have 10 players exit the club this year (either through sales or loan), sign 2 or 3 and still have a big enough squad with hopefully enough quality to compete on all fronts.

If it transpires that Mo's contract is announced on the 31st of January then I'd take it and call it a brilliant transfer window.

I’m not sure why we pad the squad out paying quite high wages to players not good enough to come in and do any better a job than an u23’s player. I would look to reduce the number of senior members of a higher quality to 18 players and pad the rest of the squad with highly rated youngsters. We could then pay our very best players the money required to keep them rather than wasting 80-90k a week on players such as Minamino, Milner (was a great player), the ox or origi.
Two fold this could help give our younger players more opportunities whilst reducing the wage bill to keep our best players.

shivers Champs - are you trying to start a riot on here haha imagine the uproar when our top 18 have their inevitable injuries and we're having to send the kids in lol.
