Great signing IMO if we do get Diaz.

Think he is a very similar player to Raphina at Leeds who we were also interested in.

Eds, in your view who is the better player between the two?

From the little i've seen of Diaz he reminds me of Pedro Neto. Exciting player for sure. His goal records stands up to any winger in Europe this season, minuz Salah. Weaker league on paper i guess but the goals are the same size in the Prem 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Can only mean Mane is going in the summer i imagine. I’m glad we’re moving for a left sided attacker and not a right sided one, given Salah virtually never misses a game and Gordon provides very ample backup when taking that into consideration. Looks like a good signing and i’ll be very happy if it gets over the line, although i am surprised we’re moving for a forward before another midfielder, given the issues we’ve had in that position this season. Maybe they’re waiting to free up space and get some more wages off the books in that position before making a move.

Question is can Diaz consistently pass the ball to one of our own players? All of our front 3 struggle with this and it’s an area we massively need to improve on. We need to get some creativity in the front 3 to make up for the lack of it from midfield without Thiago.

For me it doesn’t necessarily mean Mane is going. After all Mane is a RW so if Salah goes (after all he’s worth the most and it’s public knowledge he’s demanding more than owners are willing to pay him) then Mane moves back to his natural position.

For me personally I’d rather lose Bobby, Ox, Mino, Origi, Kieta and Milner saving roughly 700k a week plus whatever we get for them in transfer money.

Salah wants 400k a week which is 200k more than what he’s on so we take that out of the 700k we save and bring in a midfielder or two and utilise Elliot and Jones more.

Give Mane a new contract as he’s our 10th highest paid player so clearly money means little to him and next season we have freshened up the midfield and our front 3 is any of Mane, Salah, Jota and Diaz with Elliot and Jones able to Step in with Gordon if am I’m just curse strikes the forward line.

Given that Salah doesn’t really miss games, i think so. Would seem a bit of a waste to spend all that money in the position of the best player in the world, as much as i think Raphinha and Bowen are excellent players. We’ve got too many other problems in the team to do that. Gordon actually looks like he’s got it and i hope that in another 6 months time he’ll be in the position Elliott and Jones are in now. I’ve been very impressed with him.

Personally don’t think Gordon is that good yet. Looks very lightweight. I would suggest Elliot would be better standing in on the right for the few games Salah misses. Think Elliot lacks a bit of physical presence atm to play in a midfield 3 consistently,

With Gordon at the club and Salah being everpresent i would let the kid be backup to Mo, we have to give him a pathway like the way the likes of Greenwood and Saka got their chances. its what Klopp is going to do anyway, he's not going to buy a top player to play the handful of games Salah misses every year.

Gordon is a kid and super raw so let's allow the kid grow and develop in peace before people start crowning him as backup to whoever or comparing him/ his situation to whatever rival youngster that I personally, don't care about. This is the type of unnecessary pressure many put on these kids and if they are not reaching the heights we set for them fast enuff, the fangs come out and people suddenly want them gone. As for Diaz and who he replaces, let's wait and see what happens with Sadio in the summer and Salah's contract situation cos right now, it's all speculation. Who knows, we may just keep both Sadio and Salah and still add another forward.
