My main concern about signing Díaz for between £40-60M is how much further that pushes me down the pecking order.
Ok, I’m 45, predominately left footed and never been remotely considered as a professional footballer; but do FSG really know what they’re doing?

I too feel your pain Si . similar MO for me, untapped mediocrity although I have more experience of said skill set at the age of 58 …still if I could bring myself to adorn the colour, there’s hope across the park given the Blue S squad potential. Could easily see an extended run in that shambolic set up.

Ed025. One thing about Lampard is he would bring the youth into the game and Tbf Everton has not many options than relying on the youth today. That being said he won’t go along well with your hierarchy mate.
His style is all about possession and I don’t know other than Gomez you have anyone to play that way.

Tbf he never was mr personality but I would tip stevie to be a much better manager than lippy Frank all day long. Klopp mentored him well and he is showing great promise so far.

Frank maybe got his big chance too early at Chelsea so stepping down to Everton might be just the job for him. 😉 sorry ed25, you know I love ya.

I worry about you’s with Lampard Ed his ability to organize a defense is shocking, as proven with his time at Chelsea. On the plus side he will give youngsters a chance and, given how woeful the senior players have been, that could be his saving grace. But of a gamble though and if the fans remain toxic it could turn ugly quickly.

Everyone is a risk at Everton atm but in reality they r in a relegation battle this season and best option for them would have been to get big Sam back. Lampard could very easily take them down.

I’ve not seen anything from Lampard to suggest he is any good. In his time at Chelsea he seemed to try way too hard to impress, constantly changing the team and the tactics while often making very harsh and pointed examples of players, dropping them as soon as they had a bad game. I personally think it will be a disaster.

In fairness though Ed a significant number of footballers are complete douche bags, Gerrard, Terry, Lampard, Cashley Hole, Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs, Sterling. Some of the stories about those guys floating around are somewhere between shocking and funny and every one of them has a super injunction preventing the stories ever being released.

I am concerned for Everton this season, they really are in danger of being dragged into the relegation battle, and it wouldn't be good for the city or Liverpool FC without the pants villains to play.

They have to get the managers choice right this time, I actually thought Rafa would do ok and maybe but for injuries he would, makes you thankful that Jurgen was appointed for us.
