Mo hasn’t been effective since AFCON.

A loss on penalties in the final, followed by a loss in a penalty shootout for the World Cup qualification plus endless speculation about his next contract (and perhaps disappointment that the ‘big clubs’ haven’t approached him) . Perhaps understandable that the bloke has gone off the boil.

Might be a boost to get his future settled sooner rather than later - clear some of the jumble out of his head.

Ngl mate i thought that might have been Salah’s worst performance for us ever. Seemed like he gave the ball away every time he had it. Incredibly worrying stuff ahead of the City game, i have literally no idea what we do with him going into it now.

Much happier that we are coming back to Anfield with a 2 goal lead than having to travel to Madrid with a 1 goal lead. Be interesting to see what Guardiola's priority is and how it affects his selections over next 10 days. Gut feel would be Champions League is Citeh's priority.

If last night was an audition for the City game then I only think Diaz was the only forward who grabbed the bull by the horns.

Bobby - 30 min cameo was pretty neat and tidy and closed down well. Last two games he’s had a couple of pot shots that’s just hit defenders.

Jota one minute he completes a 10 yard pass and then the next he can’t control the ball or pass it 5 yards. Great chance at the end that if he takes he gets another goal. Does his inability to keep possession outweigh his goal threat for City.

Mane I thought he started well with his back heel and goal but really faded out of the game and touch let him down quite a few times.

Salah - this is the most I’ve seen him involved in a game the last few weeks but literally everything he tried didn’t go for him. The ball even rolled under his foot when trying to control it a few times. He’s still drawing lots of defenders to him though which gives Trent lots of room to do his stuff.

Big decision for Klopp. I expect to see at least 4 of the 5 involved at some point on Sunday.

Salah was awful, shouldn't of started based on form. He's been terrible for a few games now. Not entirely sure I'd start him against city but you just never know if he's going to hit form and you always want an in form salah in your team. His touch has been bad. He needs to sign up and get going! On to city now and try out best against 13 men to bring home the bacon.

I think people need to bear in mind that Salah, like me, is observing Ramadan. So not being able to drink anything, including water, or eat anything all day from sunrise to sunset is going to affect his performance levels at first.

AW Salahs worst game yet? Jesus that's harsh he could still quite easily have finished the game with a hat trick then everyone would be wetting their pants over him. Small margins Mo is still playing very very well just not taking his chances.

More to the point, the rest of the team are now stepping up and we don't have a reliance on just mos goals.

Mo is becoming a victim of his own brilliance and people expect it every game all season long which is just simply not possible.

Ramadan only started kloppistopp salah has been off it 3 months now! It’s very concerning coming into the business end of a season!
The way he’s playing he should be dropped but it’s too much of a risk we all know what he has in his locker we just want it back!

Plus all these analysts etc at the club computer science blah blah who says they were not predicting this down fall to happen hence not offering the money? Just a thought!

Ramadan is not an excuse in my opinion. Lots of stuff is put in place for elite athletes observing it. Fofana was injured most of the season and he still smashed it in his last game whilst fasting. Salah's just playing poorly. He is human.

JH, I thought the very same thing. Salah looked more involved vs Benfica than in several of the games before that and actually had chances to score. I also agree with those who say he is knackered, observing the fasting season and the toll the AFCON and those mammoth games vs Senegal have knocked the stuffing out of him. It’s a combo, IMO. We just need to support him and help him thru this sticky oatch.
