Absolutely delighted to see how well Naby did last night as there is a proper player there but it is taking a helluva long time to get it seen on a consistent basis due to the long documented injuries that restrict any progress being made in terms of becoming a regular .

A decision has to be made are we happy to have Naby make 30 appearances a season at a good level or is the expectation he's available to play 50 a season instead.

The change to 5 subs may mean the load can be spread over more midfielders so staying me be more of an option than was before .

Alternatively if a top feasible CM target emerges for someone like a Rice, Bellingham, Tchouameni etc then it may be the case Naby moves on and builds his career elsewhere .

Big few months ahead for him .

Why can’t we move on OX and Milner to bring one CM 🤔🤔🤔.

I think Henderson is giving us very little at the moment (and for a while now in my opinion), so I think Naby could come in alongside Thiago and Fabinho a bit more during the run in.

When Elliott returned in Jan, I assumed that come March/ April he'd be a key part of the run-in. I guess it's taking him longer to get back to full fitness and sharpness after the injury.

I don't think Ox has shown enough to suggest he can come in and grab things by the scruff in the run-in. Same with Minamino in my opinion. Milner will have a role to play for sure but probably more likely to be as rotation for Thiago or Fabinho or coming off the bench.

So yes, I think there's an opportunity for Keita during the run in.

The first time he’s played with Thiago and Fabinho I believe.
He played well last night did Naby. Probably won’t start vs City but I think he deserves to keep his Benfica 2nd leg place.

I’ve never had any doubts about Naby’s ability but I remain surprised at how easily he sometimes gets shrugged off the ball and his lack of pace.

He’s shown he can tackle and win headers, but still looks a bit lightweight at times. When you consider how much football he’s missed through injury, makes me wonder if the premier league is a bit too physical for him?

Alternatively, with a consistent run of form and fitness, maybe he’ll get stronger and find the confidence to become the force that he obviously was in the German league.

Played well but is it for a new contract? Or a move?
4 yrs and he’s now putting a shift in?

Naby played well last night and credit to him.

Played decent for half hour then went missing until the assist to Diaz!
It’s the best I’ve seen naby play but too little to late!
As ed25 says 1 sparrow doesn’t make a summer!
He’s a dud signing for me 4 years of tripe!
He’s a klopp signing anyone else would of been booted out!
He needs to go with ox origi and a few others!

Nice to see Naby putting a few performances together. Constructive criticism is one thing but it seems like some people want Naby to not play well. Surely for the good of the club we want all the players to play well whether they’re our favourite ones or the ones we might be more critical of.

Jadon I know well he’s here next season as I said he’s a klopp signing he wanted him more then any why we paid over the odds for him!
He didn’t want salah he wasn’t his 1st pick either!

“He wanted him more than any …. ” are you sure about that? Not, say, Ali or VVD or Thiago or, more recently, Diaz?

Appreciate you aren’t the Chairman of the Keita fan club but it’s a bit of a leap to make stuff up that you then try and pass of as fact to back up your argument.

Down to opinions I guess.

Ask Ed to fill you in on the facts who klopp wanted and didn’t want etc!
U can wet your jocks over Keita from one game all u want he’s here 4 years and he’s been brutal!
Contract coming up so I’ll put a shift in sound naby 👍🏼
All about opinions and that’s mine!
I’d be more then delighted for him to make me eat my words but a couple of half decent games no chance!

{Ed0666's Note - alternatively some club sees how well he’s playing and we recoup some of that transfer fee and try and alternative route without keita.

Naby is a decent player but some have made up their minds and just slate everything he does yet Thiago has had more than his fair share of shocking games but never gets criticised.
I don’t mind criticism when it’s fair but the criticism of Naby is very rarely fair.
Just give the guy a break and support him.

Salah not being Klopp’s first choice and Klopp not wanting Salah are totally different things 🤦🏼‍♂️ Do you seriously think the club would sign any player Klopp didn’t want?

Ox, Origi and a few others need to go? That's a fair chunk of the squad. Amazing how we've already one won trophy, are strongly in the running for 3 more and are the only ones pushing "the greatest Premiership team ever" all the way with a limited squad.
We're never going to have a squad of 20 plus elite superstars, the so called second string is exactly that - a slightly lesser level of player or players who aren't as consistent but are still considered good enough to step in and do a job for the team when required.
It doesn't mean they're crap or malingerers. You don't get the kind of winning streaks we're seeing now by carrying any passengers or by having 2nd rate players.

Ever since he got injured by that horror tackle by Pogba, he has been tentative in the tackle. Its encouraging to see that he might be overcoming that now but he really needs to put together a string of competent games before Im convinced he has turned a corner. Id love him to come good but its a big risk renewing his contract (considering how much he is getting paid) .
