I honestly don’t get the paper or pundits love in with city. “Liverpool edged city to a 3-2 win” it wasn’t even close it should have been 4/ 5 to Liverpool the score flattered city they where well beaten today.

Were they? We had 2 (maybe even all 3) goals gifted to us, all of which Allison would’ve stopped. Not to mention, Allison did his thing on a few really good scoring opportunities.

Glad we won though. On to the final!

I’m with Clanscot, could have won by more and never put in a situation where we needed to step it up. Very different game to last week, finishing when you’re on top the difference for me.

Agreed. This was not the same ManC team that we faced for the 2-2 draw; we could have, should have scored more. In fact what we did to them in the first half today was far more dominant than what they did to us in the previous game. They all seemed lost.

But I think there are reasons for it. Atletico really tired them out, both mentally and physically. And Pep refused to use the substitutions he was entitled to, which is something I don't understand. He is one of the most vocal supporters of the 5 players rule, and he clearly has the best bench in the league. De Bruyne being injured had an effect too, but I think it's minor in comparison to the other reasons because we have all seen ManC roll all over opponents, without him, in the past.

I said we will win, and we did. 🌞.

They gifted us goals means we were better and we didn’t gift them any in the first half. Of course they came out stronger in the second, but we knew we had to contain and maintain, not go out like it’s 0-0.

TJ red yes we did we tore them apart they got two goals as we switched off. We should of scored at least 2 goals
After they scored their first and that was minimum had salah has his passing or shooting boots on today it would
Of been a canter!

I don’t agree that all three goals were gifts, the second yes. The first was not Steffen’s faul it was poor defending. mane’s second was great team play and at the speed it happened I don’t think it is a “routine save”.

Gifted or not a goal is a goal! We forced them errors.

ArAy, Pep thinks he’s got the League in the vag and is prioritising the CL. The FA Cup isn’t / wasn’t the priority. No point risking players by bringing them on as subs.

Anyway, whatever his plans, who cares? Another trip to a Wembley final to look forward too 👍👍 Bring on United - midweek night match at Anfield and the place should be rocking.

Well, they should have "gifted" us more goals then. That was so not nice of them not to allow Salah and Firmino to score, on their one-on-ones against Steffen. 😉.

TJ Red, they gifted us goals? When? The fist one was off a corner, an excercise we are the absolutely best at in the PL with 19 headed goals this season. You think that’s a gift? Or luck?

The other goal was due to relentless pressing by Mane Wo forced the mistake from the GK. If he doesn’t press then, the goal does NOT happen. The third goal came off one of the best moves of our season so again, what husks where we gifted? We got the win had the result flattered City do let’s take that to the next game instead of engaging in worthless criticism.
