Apparently we are planning to hold a minutes applause on the 7th minute for Ronaldo. I hope its true, some things are bigger then rivalries and as a parent I couldn't imagine the pain of losing a little one.

Our fans will sing YNWA as we always do to support others or have suffered and yet again it will be seen by other fans as us being disrespectful ie chanting our song during what should be a minutes applause.

The club needs to put out a statement in advance to say why our fans do this otherwise each time it makes our club look worse.

This has bothered me for sometime.

1jj - I’m not sure I’ve seen too many people in my neck
Of the woods say the song itself is disrespectful. I mean it’s pretty self explanatory…

However, there are times we sing it over top of something else that is probably seen as “disrespectful. ” But some people have a hard time stepping Outside these days so I wouldn’t pay it much attention.

I’d absolutely support us doing this tonight. As well as showing respect for a truly great player - whether we like it or not - It will also show-up the vile City fans who failed to adhere to the silence on Saturday….

Say what you want about Liverpool fans. But we have class in these kind of circumstances. A real a big club like Liverpool will Clap Ronaldo and Rashford.
And like Johnny says, once again we Will show up these small clubs like Man City and their supporters who don’t respect the death of men women and kids.

LFC8 whilst some city fans were moronic, we also have some moronic fans. The city bus as one example but it in no way represents us all. And likewise that pocket of city fans doesn't represent the whole of their fan base.

Tonight I fully expect a few to try and be clever and possibly spoil what should be nothing more then basic human respect for an individual who is going through an awful time.

Ronaldo deserves some respect, clearly he won't be playing but we should show recognition of what he's going through by putting football to one side. I hope this happens as a sign of respect. As a father id dread to ever go through what he has, so massive respect to him and wish him well.

Spot on lads. Great gesture by your fans. I’m sure it will be appreciated by Cristiano, and certainly is by us United fans who don’t let a mutual dislike of each other’s clubs get in the way of showing respect at times like this.

Both clubs have known great tragedy, which is something that links us, even if 99% of the time neither set of supporters would like to admit it.

P. S. If anyone knows Mr Klopp, could you ask him to tell the team to take it easy after you go 3 goals up this evening? Thanks in advance 👍🏻😂.

One idiot threw a kopparberg, apparently thousands of City fans were booing, enough to get our own fans to break the silence to respond. Not to commit ‘whataboutery’ but i think it was a much more significant and revealing incident than other similar controversies. It isn’t comparable and they should be ashamed.

The clapping at seven minutes was quite emotional but a thought occured to me: what would happen if a goal was scored, a penalty awarded etc at the start of the seventh minute?
It's a rhetorical question because I know the crowd would react but what happens to the show of support?
Serious question and I wonder if it has happened before. It's a risk when these things happen during the game, isn't it?
