Just some thoughts on pitch invasion
It really must be dealt with now
Some will say it's only taunting it minor altercation, but let it brew and you could be seeing some serious damage real soon

I think some things being done now is fining the club? I think it's not enough. Yes the club is responsible for security but a small fine is a slap on the wrist.

Bans for the fans that caused mayhem? I think there's only that handful and if the person was caught on camera, they'll get away with it.

More importantly, we shouldn't just punish those that harassed players or did real harm, as the primary issue is pitch invasion. So I think we must hit where it hurts - outcome of football matches.

If it happens during a once off game or play of, the team that failed to control their fans will automatically lose the game 3-0. If it's a league game, the team will experience an automatic 10 point deduction, barred from winning the title or European appearances. It's a high price to pay such that both clubs and fans has an incentive to do right - the club to manage security and educate fans to behave, the fans to actually behave or their championship win / relegation survival / European qualification will b made null regardless of match outcomes.

Of course I'm not seeking retrospective actions for what happened this season (I'm not that pitiful to want us to win the league via a back door), rather, we really need to sort this out now before someone gets really hurt.

Would love to hear from the rest.

Clubs have responsibilities but so does the individual. I would introduce fines, removal of season tickets and banning to people identified invading the pitch. it’s impossible to fine all in a mass invasion, but if they face the possibility of an arbitrary ban etc then it will act as a deterrent. If people choose to ignore then they run the risk of following the club they love.

Use mobile phone footage, social media and cctv to catch. It will soon stop. People have to be held accountable for their actions and will think twice.

That can't be policed properly. Just say you dock points, what's stopping a few liverpool supporters going to man City running on the field and hitting one of their players. Or vica versa their supporters doing the same. You all remember the idiot who threw the bottle at the man City bus and we were up in arms over it, who did he support.

No fans inside the ground for 2 games chosen by the FA be it a home game or away game and bring in the Police mob handed toward the end of the game in full riot gear works in Italy.

There is already an issue of police shortages in this country, so we can't expect every game to have a riot squad on stand by. I don't belive point deductions will work either as like mentioned, will likely just encourage fans from other teams. The Individual punishment needs to be more severe, yes ban them, but also add hefty fines to the individual as well.

An off duty police officer ran onto the pitch at City, didn't he?
You don't need to celebrate on the pitch or by breaking goalposts.
If you're 'celebrating' on the pitch, you're spoiling it for the others sat or stood where they should be and it isn't fair to the players.
It's selfish.

The FA should introduce a zero tolerance policy and an instant 5 point deduction to teams who cannot control there fans from running onto the pitch - maybe the fans will think twice about doing it then.

A two point deduction is enough. Starting last Sunday!

I was also thinking about the bottom of the table and the consequences that would of caused, when Patrick Viera was assaulted.

If there was a zero tolerance and a 5 point deduction - then the consequences are literally in the hands of the fans, so you would like to think they may think twice about doing it.

It will be hard to judge whose fans actually committed the offence no?
As @ Deisered above has mention.
By Jersey, by id? It wouldn't be 100%.

When thinking of "pitch invasion", for some reason, my mind went immediately to the time Klopp ran over all the way to Alisson in that Everton game, LOL. He was lucky to escape sanction (or I'm not aware of what was said or done to him by the FA) .
