Eds,

Do we know how Salah's comments in the public eye from him and his agent over the last 6 months have went down in the dressing room given how his form has plummeted since AFCON.

If you talk the talk you need to walk the walk which he hasn't done, and the Madrid players clearly used this as one of their motivation tools for the final going by their comments .

With Mane rumoured to not be feeling the same love from the club, could the sale of Salah this summer be on the cards to allow someone like Bowen or Nkunu to arrive in less salary, less media comments but high output?

{Ed0666's Note - he wanted to avenge the loss of 2018 and he vocalized it what’s welding with that???

IMO, People are paying too much attention to Salah's comments and it's becoming pretty boring now, IMO. RM players like Valverde said some crazy stuff too and didn't see the RM fans getting all scared of just words cos that's all they are, words. If Salah's words were that powerful to shift the balance of power in footie games, would we be where we are right now? Would we ever lose a game? Move on.

More about him saying he feels he’s best in world in his position, body language when subbed, agent comments, high profile articles on him in International magazines to boost his profile and Commercial appeal all at same time asking to be paid on a par with the top players in world while form on the pitch doesn’t match that .

I’d be very surprised if some of the dressing room where not annoyed about that as often happy to put up with that when producing on the pitch but when not should focus on the football performances.

Naturally no player would say this publicly but will in private without a doubt.

{Ed077's Note - you're making Salah sound like Bendtner. Although it doesn't look/sound as good coming from his mouth but he is easily the best player in his position in the world and at least top 5 player overall.

Do you think the Madrid players needed motivating before a CL final? He didn't have his best game but Salah was millimetres away from scoring a superb goal. If it had gone in who knows what would've happened and he would have backed up the talk.

I don’t know if you can claim they definitely used it as motivation. Honestly we just lost a game of football, probably shaded it in terms of chances and it happens sometimes.

It's been taken out of context and people everywhere have jumped on it. I saw the interview myself. Rio Ferdinand asked after the Villareal game "between Manchester City and Real Madrid, which team do you prefer to play in the final? ". And his reply was "I want to play Madrid, I have to be honest. City is a really tough team, we've played against them a few times this season, but if you asked me personally, I'd like to play Madrid. ". Peter Crouch then jumps in and ask "Payback? " He replied "We lost against them in the final, so hopefully we'll win it from them as well". And that was it. He didn't use the word revenge as has been universally quoted, even though some can construe it as such. For me it was just one professional athlete aiming to correct a loss, which is so much the norm in any professional sports. Now was this a show of arrogance and bravado as is being portrayed and commented on everywhere?

Actually it was his tweet ‘we have a score to settle’ that started all the revenge talk. And he definitely hasn’t been a top 5 player so far in 2022.

ArAY mate he wrote in he's SM the word 'revenge' Hendo was uncomfortable with he's answers in prematch. Despite Hendo tried to play it down Salah literally double downed it what he said.

Hence some pundits and fans In SM are all over Salah.

Henry said yesterday “I always say something, don’t talk before a final. Beat Real Madrid, then talk and say, ‘it was revenge and all of that’. When you talk before a final, you have to win it. ”.

Who gives a shiny sh*te what that cheating French clob thinks? You're all dead right a player should never have confidence in himself.

There's a thin line btw confidence and arrogance.

It has nothing to do with Henry he's one of the many pundits who had their opinion on salah's big talk before CL

It's not like Hendo, Klopp, Elliott, mane and most of our players completely isolated with what Salah said they lacked confidence did they?

Hence Hendo was completely uncomfortable with Salah in he's prematch interview.

In fairness Salah didn’t do anything differently to what many posters post.

We will win and the quadruple was in the bag for weeks according to some. Which I’m not saying there is anything wrong with. Posters massively backed us to do it and we’re happy to sing from the rooftops. Unfortunately it didn’t happen so now we have to have broad shoulders and take some of those S##t back.

At the end of the day, I don’t care what anyone says, the best team didn’t win the champions league final. We had more shots, more corners, and more possession, the only difference was that there defenders didn’t lose concentration, whereas one of ours had one lapse of concentration that allowed them to score.

It’s all a bunch of words that literally mean nothing in the end. RM didn’t need Salah’s words to be motivated to play a CL final. If they did then, they would have lost the game fir sure. I’m over it.

Mo has been pretty brash in the media over the last year. multiple occasions talking about his contract, throwing Jurgen and the club under the bus in the public. I think the question is whether any of our eds with inside oil have an idea whether any of those have rubbed others in the dressing room the wrong way.

That was exactly the question as I will be very surprised if the senior players are not happy re this but naturally won’t have vocalised this in public with so much to play for over the last few months of the season.
