He seems to want to risk his career by joining Man Utd got to give it to him it’s quite brave. The place is a graveyard for once talented players. He is exactly what I would want along with Bellingham but really we need to sign players who actually want to play for us. I trust whoever is chosen will be up to the job. Can’t wait to see Konate, Carvalho, Harvey and Jones kick on though so I am not too worried.

What's that based on?

Absolutely nothing I'd imagine Flash.

Nunez update.

This morning he got up about 9am. Had OJ and scrambled eggs on 2 slices of brown bread. Read a few articles online about the Queens Platinum jubilee (he’s a big fan of the royal institution and loves corgis) . Then is off for a morning walk whilst listening to some early prog rock classics.

Let me know if you all want the daily Nunez update and I’ll see what I can do….

To be fair to SN, Ed002 when asked said he expected Nunez to go to Man United unless PSG throw a spanner in the works. I'm paraphrasing, but it has definitely been said on here that Man United is his most likely destination.

Maybe that was up until Liverpool now need a starting centreforward.

Darwin Núñez will want UCL football. There will be no answer from him or his reps as he's currently involved with Uruguay until just after the 11th of June.

You’d like to assume, Mane and the Club knew before we did about his desire to leave.
So Klopp has prepared for this, Darwin Nkunku or Martinez would be ok.

As dire straights as Utd are in currently moving from Benfica to UTD is still a step up especially with regards to wages. Utd might not have CL football but Celtic do but I can’t imagine players choosing them over a premier league club.

If it was a straight shoot out between us and Utd I believe 99% of players would choose us. The predicament here is are we even giving Nunez that option as he can’t choose us if we aren’t even in for him.

Why would any half decent player or better want to play for the devils 11 what with no champions league to look forward to or Harry maguire playing behind you defies logic.

Liverpoolfc8, I agree with your logic that the club knew about the possible departures of Mane and Salah. That's why plans were probably in place for Diaz and Bowen in the summer, if both of our guys had to be sold. And we'd continue with a Salah, Jota, Mane frontline, until then. But Spurs put a spanner in the works and Diaz had to be bought immediately. And Diaz did very well during Afcon. So Mane got shifted to CF, because he too was seen as better than Jota. This turned out to be the ultimate blessing in disguise because we went up to the highest level in recent decades with those 5 forwards. The question now is, does Klopp want to continue with 5 prominent forwards or continue with the 3-4 prominent guys we have played with under him (and therefore not replace Mane)? Does he go out and get a replacement for Mane (with equal quality somewhat) and get our strength back up to a strong 5 in front (Salah, Jota, Diaz, Firmino and new player)?

There's a lot of talk of CF's like Nunez, Nkunku and Jonathan David. But where do they fit in with Jota and Firmino still around?

Let’s not rule out a salah sale. Not saying I’m for it but it only takes a rich club offering “big”money to get him. I don’t think they will but I also think we won’t agree a new contract with him despite the owners desire. Salah Newcastle legend? Probably not.

Apart from the noises his agent makes can anybody remember any team over the course of Mo’s time at Liverpool actually looking like they were going to make an offer (let alone one the club might accept) for him?

As has been said, give the club credit for having a plan and give them the respect they have earned with their plans to date.
