Am getting a bit fed up with fans critizing the owners, FSG, . Fans forget when FSG bought Liverpool we were in a mess as well as not having any money, we had extremely low levels of commercial income, a under utilised ground in terms of ticket income and a club that once was high performing to then a club that over a number of years had not maximised its potential. In the time they have been here they have negotiated new commercial partners generating much larger commercial income, new shirt deals, shirt sponsors, etc all without selling out the ground name, unlike City, Arsenal, etc. We now pay the 4th highest wages in the pl which was also a bug bearer with fans, difference between 4th and 2nd is not massive. They have increased ground capacity generating income from ticket sales and built a new training ground. Ronaldo was supposed to have been training at a local gym rather than the poor facilities at Utd.
I am fairly confident we are among the top 4 followed/ liked clubs in the world.
I am not saying that FSG are perfect but they are not reckless like the Spanish clubs owners.
You could have owners like Newcastle who will split the fans or City who are constantly being audited under FPP or Utd who waste 1 billion without success.
Just be grateful what we have, instead of trying to be greedy.
We are successful in every area and we should be grateful we are challenging for every cup every year, exciting times.

Fsg showed there true colours with the super league, I've never been a fan of them but that definitely showed what they in it for. There reign will always be a success due to klopp. They where meandering nowhere until he took over, our so called transfer committee was a laughing stock. If reports are to be believed and we don't add a midfielder this summer u can kiss the league goodbye for another season. they should be pushing for and getting a world class midfielder, we are in the top 3 most attractive teams in world to sign for, arguably only real and city could get player ahead of us if we wanted them.

{Ed001's Note - they brought in Klopp. So it is a success because of them too.}

We need to just stick to criticising Naby and Jota. I bet one of them pair were the ones who came up with the super league idea as well. Little bloody rascals that they are.

{Ed001's Note - they drew up the whole thing with crayons in Jota's new colouring book.}

You're fed up with fans criticism of club owners? You must be new to Football.

Bleeding eck. That come out of left field. Haven’t seen anyone complaining about FSG recently. But I stand corrected if they have. Most things I have seen is optimism going in the new season having signed Klopp (extension), Carvalho, Nunez and Ramsay. If they bring in a midfielder, I would call that a fantastic summer transfer window.

23 Jun 2022 20:46:13
I think FSG have been decent owners. I do think they could have supported more in recent transfer windows. But after early mistakes such as re hiring Kenny, they have been good. Hiring Klopp was a master stroke. 6 trophies is more than any manager in the last 30 years.

6.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 20:48:44
Digger10 you sound like the same sort of fan who were winging last summer over lack of transfer activity and look at the season we had! I'm sure life has more important things for you to worry about so just take it easy buddy :)

Ed001 ?.

8.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 21:19:22
Ed1.100% fsg deserve credit for appointing klopp, it was masterstroke to there eternal credit.

Jonesy . All I'm saying is we have best manager most of us will ever see, make the most of it. Last season was great but if we hadve bought top class midfielder last summer we wouldve won the league, points dropped against Brighton/ brentford early on when teams where slicing threw our midfield like a knife threw butter. u put likes of Declan rice in there and we win it. And if we don't buy 1 this summer we won't topple city this season either.

We have 7 midfield players for 3 positions. Fabinho is a certain starter if fit, Henderson as captain will be a mainstay if again fit, and Taiago is also a likely starter, so to pay 70m odds for another midfield player who would they be a certain starter, what do you do with the rest of the midfield players.?
You could argue Henderson would cover for Fabinho, but if Milners contract has been renewed Klopp must be going to give him game time. So you are left with Ox Jones Elliott Kieta for one place. Am not sure unless you sell 2 of those 4 why you would buy another midfield player.

10.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 21:30:10
Certain types of fan will criticise FSG because they think we "won't win the transfer window". Nothing else that FSG does will count for them, they want to see hundreds of millions spent on their current flavour of the month.
I'm sure FSG won't lose any sleep over it.

11.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 21:44:37
I'd sell both keita and ox and buy 1. Hendo, fab and thiago will all be going to the world cup this winter as well, and all 3 will prob go to later stages. That will be a lot of football for them 3 particularly with thiago and hendo injury record.
Fab, thiago, hendo, jones, elliot, milner and rice/ or similar would be what I think we need to win league.

23 Jun 2022 21:45:30
On a serious note from me FSG have made plenty of mistakes (no owners haven’t) and they’ve got plenty of things right.

I feel like they are understanding football more and more every year and with that they seem to be getting better every year.

There’s plenty of worse owners out there and the grass isn’t always greener. As long as Klopp is at the helm FSG are in good hands.

13.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 21:57:54
Criticism of FSG for stuff like the Super League and the proposed furlough of staff is perfectly valid.

As for how much money they've pumped into the club and generally run the football end of things, they've done at least alright imo.

Let's not forget when they took over we had a squad with players like Jovanovic, N'Gog, Joe Cole (good player but unfortunately on the downswing due to injuries), Poulsen, Johnson etc. in it. We've come a long way from there, despite having to nearly start again after the Rodgers era, and you have to give FSG credit for that.

Do I sometimes want to play fantasy football in my head and see them spend a million billion on players? And have them just chuck the £400k a week at Salah so our best player remains and I can just pretend not to think about how disgusting money in football is? Sure. But that's not a sustainable way to run a football club.

14.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 22:08:03
We've had more success under FSG than in the last 30 years. Yes they have made mistakes and plenty of them. I would also say they seemed to have learned from their mistakes. As Ed001 said, they signed Klopp.

15.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 22:09:01
Seriously, the off season and transfer window is just THE best time of the year.

People whose biggest worry generally concerns who is going to cover for the injured midfielder at the weekend are compelled to find fresh things to worry about and usually they are bigger things like replacing the owners or manager or such like, none of which a lot of us have any knowledge or even comprehension of and so the arguments tend to be comically simplistic - to be good owners we have to buy at least one world class players every day during the window, etc.

It’s brilliant entertainment provided you realise that (like reality tv) it’s not real, it’s just idle chatter to pass the time until the serious stuff starts again??.

16.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 22:10:05
Were you around when we were held back for years by Moore’s and Parry? Having to watch United spend their way to the top whilst we stood still. Then came along gillet and hicks.

Be careful what you wish for….

17.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 22:14:41
Right that’s it. I’m going to break into Anfield and get games abandoned. And I’m not wearing red anymore, Green and Yellow from now on ?.

18.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 22:19:59
FSG are far from perfect but under their ownership the clubs commercial and on the field fortunes have sever so steadily improved. We have also gone from almost going into administration to modernising every aspect of our commercial appeal and from a mid table team to arguably one of the two best teams in Europe and been consistent at that level for a few years now. I think I’ll forgive them any minor mistake they have made especially when more often then not they have had the humility to publicly apologise for them. Yes I know said apologies are to keep people happy and likely not sincere, but it’s a damn site better than most. I think most people who want FSG out just want us to be bought by some oil rich nation like NUFC or City, all the while complaining about those clubs finances being unfair. Just enjoy the ride while it lasts I say. We won’t be at this level forever.

19.) 23 Jun 2022
23 Jun 2022 23:37:24
If we don’t sign a midfielder we can kiss the league goodbye ?. The midfielders we have nearly won the bloody quadruple! And we actually would’ve won the league if it weren’t for a scandalous decision not to give Everton a penalty in the last minute against City.
On that note I can’t believe more hasn’t been said about it, especially considering the PGMOL apologised to Everton admitting it was an incorrect decision. That one incorrect decision won City the league ultimately.

20.) 24 Jun 2022
24 Jun 2022 02:03:18
FSG’s problem is that they just aren’t as rich as owners of other clubs operating at Liverpool’s level, so it has taken a genius manager to allow us to even compete for trophies season after season. I don’t necessarily afford them much credit for bringing in Klopp, it would have been a dereliction of duty for them not to given his personality, availability and what other managers were out there at the time.
In a world without state-backed clubs FSG would be as close to ideal owners as one could expect, though they do need to learn that while owners wanting to make money is understandable, pulling out every stop in order to do so is not. However, they have helped to make us a world class club again, so much so we will likely overtake Man Utd in revenue this season - unthinkable even 5 years ago.
Sadly, we will not be as successful as we probably deserve to be because football is more unfair than it has ever been. State-backed entity interference has turned the whole thing into a joke, and FSG can’t be blamed for not playing a game they have no chance of winning.

21.) 24 Jun 2022
24 Jun 2022 05:16:08
Wait, but isn’t being successful on the pitch also a key part of how the owners make money…?
?? let’s think about this for a sec.

22.) 24 Jun 2022
24 Jun 2022 05:50:25
Hang on, a huge thread about the owners and no WARO?
Whats going on?

23.) 24 Jun 2022
24 Jun 2022 06:34:21
Sounds like a Python sketch, Yes apart from Klopp, a new Main Stand, Anfield Road expansion. Numerous expensive signings, a squad that got got within a whisker of a quadruple, what have FSG done for us.

24.) 24 Jun 2022
24 Jun 2022 07:31:23
Beckers did you not watch Everton last season. There was probably more chance of them missing that pen than scoring it If it was given.

25.) 24 Jun 2022
24 Jun 2022 07:43:56
Beckers I disagree that is what cost us the league. Us not beating the likes of Brighton and losing to West ham cost us.

IF that penalty was given, there was no guarantee it would be scored and also, there is no guarantee they would then go on to drop the points they did.

City won it as they were, overall, 1 point better then us unfortunately.

26.) 24 Jun 2022
24 Jun 2022 08:14:15
Can't believe we're talking about our owners still after just comitting to paying around 90 million € for one player. They are not perfect or the best owners ever but they know what they are doing and their model works. Maybe it takes longer than we want but it works.

27.) 24 Jun 2022
24 Jun 2022 10:56:24
Digger10, that's not how footie works. First off, FSG DON'T handle transfers nor decide who goes or who stays. Shocking, I know. Also, you CANNOT attribute a 64 game season to only one event. That is just asinine. We outperformed EVERY metric and expectation of near everybody in the media or fan base who thought we would reach where we reached and with a few bounces in the CL final that go or way, we would be CL champions again. So sorry, not having that cos that is just irrational rhetoric borne out of feelings and emotions rather than facts.

As for the league, I agree that we us losing 10 points from winning positions cos us the title in the end in addition to losing at Leicester, a game we should have won twice over. Would a new midfielder have changed that? Maybe BUY you can't ay for sure esp with the way we were playing so open in games vs Brighton and Brentford when we had the lead. We did not need a new midfielder for Klopp to just play conservative and keep the ball hence, the lead better which i something he did in the second half of the season. I hope for more improvement on this front, new midfielder signed or not.

24 Jun 2022 11:37:03
Was chatting to a couple of Man City fans online Beckers and said that, his response was 'we'd have still won on goal difference' swear ya can't make this muck up

Another said there is no question marks over finance - I asked what about the fact Mancini was getting paid from 2 accounts, are they not still investigating that? Silence ensued.

Awk tbf I think our owners have been hood for the most part, made mistakes such as ticket prices and Super League but backed down when they saw fans anger, we've had the best time of winning trophies of late in the last 30 years and Klopp is a massive factor in yhat, shaping the squad from what it was to what it is now, the owners hired Klopp, kudos for that I think.

We are the shining light in a sea of fraudulent **** including Newcastle (Arab Blood Money) Man City ( Arab blood money FFP cheats) Chelsea (Russian blood money) Everton (Dodgy owner FFP cheats) and others. All just to trying and catch our coat tails without any morals. And they are still light years away from holding a candle to us. Hopefully we can continue to battle for the side of good and defeat the iluminati.

24 Jun 2022 13:49:22
I suspect we are not quite as pure as the driven snow to be honest.

31.) 24 Jun 2022
24 Jun 2022 17:47:39
Olired. Personally I do believe a top class midfielder wouldve made difference in the games referenced. Particularly the Brighton game at home we lost all control in midfield and sliced apart time after time. west ham away also. i think klopp has gone slightly more conservative, trying to be a more possession based team when we have the lead. But his high line seems to be non negotiable so u have to have the legs and physicality to do that higher up the pitch, I think we lacked that at times last season, particularly 1st half of season.

32.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 10:26:46
Digger10, that may be true BUT I maintain that you cannot boil a season of 38 games with all its twists and turns (decisions for/ against, bounces for/ against etc. ) and the fact that we were literally minutes away from winning it on the final day, on just one player not being signed or on one result. Logically Impossible.

That may be the way you feel BUT you make it sound like if the club had done what you wanted, it would have guaranteed us winning this or that game or the title in a sport where you know full well that guaranties DON’T exist. We agree to disagree on this one, bro.

33.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 12:22:14
Olired. Good to talk and have debate, I like to hear other supporters opinions even if it not my opinion. How do u think the season will go? Bit early I suppose for predictions as transfer market probably only starting to kick in, be interesting to see who all moves. Must say I'm looking forward to seeing nunez play, was real handful in the 2 games against us.
