Ed, Reading about the VAR comments in Italy, what is VAR like in other countries? Has Italy saw the same farcical calls we have or is it much smoother?

{Ed001's Note - it is the same everywhere.}

Cheers for that. Just a thought on var. if that’s true- isn’t missing ten percent of decisions pretty bad regardless?

{Ed001's Note - exactly. They should be getting well over that %age right without VAR.}

Bill, I watched a game last season btw Roma and Milan (been following AC Milan since 1991 when Gullit, Van Basten, etc were there) . Zlatan was fouled in the box and pen was awarded. Then, the on pitch ref was told to go check the VAR screen. Now when he goes there and watches the replays, we at home are seeing the exact angles of the replays that the ref is seeing.

Now one one angle, you think the defender got the ball first before, Zlatan got clipped. On another angle from behind, it looked inconclusive. Now on the third angle, they zoom into the legs of both players coming together and as clear as day, the defender clipped Zlatan first before getting the ball. After playing this angle back a couple of times, the ref points to the spot immediately.

Now not saying Rocchi is right here BUT just saying on this one occasion, VAR worked perfectly. It would be interesting to see what the VAR implementation rules are in Serie A cos if it is like I witnessed in this game then, it should be the way to go cos it is just like the NFL uses video replays and they are dead accurate almost every time. Just my take.

Fair play to Kane admirable.
