Ed666. I honestly think United fans are sick to the back teeth with both you and Ed14 ?. How you feeling going into the season? Personally quite excited and think we will surprise many with what we achieve. All the spot light is on City with the media love in with both them and Haaland. But we have a strong squad and made some shrewd signings.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not gonna lie mate I’m going into the new season with trepidation. Although I championed the sale of Mane and I think it was the right thing to do, he’s lost a yard, wasn’t skinning players with that bamboozling skill of old but we lose 20+ goals a season and where will they come from? Maybe Nunez doesent hit the ground running? Maybe Carvalho doesent either? Maybe salah’s goals dry up? It’s all if’s and but’s yet still plausible. I would be extremely confident of success if we bought a box to box midfielder who wasn’t shy of putting the ball in the onion bag. Will be a super interesting season tho.

I completely agree I don’t feel at all confident
These young signings need time
Midfield doesn’t really score

Salah can’t be scoring for fun all season he needs help and mane did and with very important goals
Diaz and jota and firmino HAVE to chip in even more than ever … I don’t expect anything from Nunez except time and patience this season
I still think we need a midfielder to chip in with goals and for firmino to be selfish -.

Salah will be hot this season after his break and pre-season.

Reckon Carvalho could be a real gem … the people who know him say he is the real deal.

Also reckon Bobby is going to be very good if we keep him injury free.

If we get a good pre-season then we could really get off to a flying start.

A lot of if and buts I agree. Nunez might not hit the ground running. But I think he will thrive in our team. Trent will be whipping those balls in and Nunez has a good conversion rate, albeit not in the Premier League. yet. Carvalho, is young but I think he will be a hit. If Elliott starts in the same manner he did last campaign, that is essentially a new signing. Diaz has tasted 6 months of the rough and tumble that is the Premier League and will be all the better for it going into next season. One thing I do agree on is that is the signing of a box to box midfielder would turn a really good summer transfer window into an almost flawless one. It’s no secret Jude Bellingham is my choice for that position and all indications point to Klopp waiting for him. Not to mention Salah will be well rested and raring to go having sorted out his future. I can understand the trepidation though but on the flip side the “unknown factor” of our signings makes it a little exciting going into the new season. Bring on 2022/ 2023 if you ask me.

I still believe we will be in the conversation for the title at the end of the season. We may win it with a couple of weeks left. I like our chances in the champions league as well. I don't think we will do well in the domestic cups.

Seriously tho, It is normal to go into a season with some form of trepidation as the unknown will do that to you esp with Mane being gone after being here for so long. Fear is a choice, tho. For me, Im always excited about a new season regardless so I remain so esp with how our new players will perform like Fabio and Darwin along with youngsters like Konate, Elliott and Curtis. Let's GO!

Having talked to a lifelong match goer of Benfica people need to relax with their expectations of Nunez for a few months anyway.
At the moment he has had one very good season of football. He isn't a normal center forward and isn't great at holding up the ball.
Anyone thinking he will jink past players and smash it in the net might be a bit apprehensive for a while.
He isn't technical he's physical.
Up to last season he wasn't even that great in the air considering he is 6'2".
What he showed last season is speed, a knack of being at the back post at the right time, ability to finish and a brain that will learn fast.
But Klopp seen something and hopefully it is explosive.

I'm super excited for the new season, prob more so than usual. Diaz full pre season, new fancy striker, Mo fresh w no world cup distractions, Elliot and Carvalho to come in, a back up to Trent and Gomez gets an injury free pre season to stake his claim. Like to see a new mid come in to replace Keita other than that we look solid imo. Possible formation change. lots to look forward to here.
