And ……… that's why the club needs a new midfielder because this isn’t personal - he is just a a waste of a squad number and needs to be off loaded

So if klopps faith is that strong then I’d rather have one of the younger lplayers and add them to the squad
In place of ox.

It’s a massive shame for him as I’ve seen he’s spent a long period of the summer maintaining his fitness and now he picks up an injury in the 2nd pre season game.

As good as our midfield is over the last few seasons I think every single one of them has missed good chunks of the season through injures. People will point to the 5 sub rule but Ox has shown today that even when we are making mass changes every 30/ 45 minutes it only takes a few seconds for a player to be on the pitch to pick one up.

Hopefully Lady Luck is on our side this season with regards to injuries as we are due a bit of that from the last couple of seasons.

Or it only takes Ox a few seconds on the pitch to get injured as he’s made of paper.

To be fair to him, he wasn't injured last season. Hopefully his injury isn't too serious. A bigger concern is that he's struggling to get into games or get rhythm when he does get selected. My image of him nowadays is one of him shaking his head and beating himself up after a move breaks down or pass or shot goes awry.

Finding a team where he can be guaranteed playing time and find some rhythm would be best for all parties.

Brothers there are tell-tale signs, with a midfield of Thiago-Keita-Ox, we will be chasing Top 4 at best.
History of injuries and games missed by them says we need a reliable midfielder.

Just as well our first choice midfield is actually Thiago-Fabinho-Henderson then isn't it?

And we also have Elliot and Jones in addition to the aforementioned Ox and Keita.

What like Hendo, Curtis and Fab perhaps?

Ox is a top bloke great on tok tiks etc but he’s on 150k a Wk get rid of him! I get klopp is loyal but F me relying on him Keita Thiago hendo to stay fit at least 80% of the season is a no go!
I’ll eat me fist if we don’t sign a mid possibly 2 before the window is out!

If that's his hamstring, as mentioned, then that's 3 months out (repair and fitness) . Crap.

Panic stations! Our 10th choice midfielder is injured!

Better start getting some ketchup on those knuckles then Jay, make them more palatable.

? flash honest mate I honestly think we will bring in mids! No chance klopp goes to war again with those mids! Sick notes galore to say same fellas be ran ragged again and come business end of the season the middle be on its arse just like this season shattered!
As Ed 2 has been saying he doesn’t think we are finished and I’m sure he can’t be naming names because he gets muppets abusing him but I take his word a mid will arrive!

Not sure about that Jay.
Liverpool have just invested in a new head of physio or such like.
Cheaper to keep people fit than but new players after all.

Well if true juicer prepare for tears bud ?.

15.) 15 Jul 2022
15 Jul 2022 23:53:30
Tears over what though? Because the club won't buy another midfielder?
I'd genuinely feel concerned for the mental state of someone who would shed tears over transfer window activity!
Injuries are part and parcel of contact sports. It doesn't matter what players come in, there will always be injuries and there will always be players who get injured more often than others.
Even our goalkeeper gets injured regularly!

According to Klopp’s post match comments it’s a muscle injury so isn’t long term. Interesting to see him say something along the lines of this happening before (with Ox) when intensity levels rise. I like Ox as a person and as a player but you have to say it might be time for him to be moved on if a kick about in a pre-season friendly is a bit too intense.

eds - any chance we'll be signing a world class midfielder to replace Ox in the stands?

We need someone to replace Gini, before we replace Ox - there should be busloads of midfielders making their way to Liverpool by the end of next week.
