Where do all these new posters come from after a poor performance? Settle down guys 37 games to go. First game of season always brings strange results.

It’s mental how we drew yesterdays game because of Matip.

Everyone else played well and we should have scored 6 by all accounts.

The whole team weren't great, Matip was certainly not the worst defender, don't think that matters much to a lot of fans tho.

some people keep blame Matip from 1st to the last game. hope Klopp will drop him out and start play Gomez regularly.

next they will blame Konate.

Agreed IR, that was a collective failure rather than blaming individuals.
Nothing do with nerves, this is a team that has played in major finals and big games across Europe.
If we’d have had the mindset that the team had at Newcastle last season, it would have been fine. We expected a battle then and played accordingly.
Yesterday, I think the team thought Fulham were going to let them do what they wanted.
Fulham played the match like a cup tie and Liverpool escaped with a draw.
If it was the cup, we’d have said we got away with it and probably ruined them in the replay.
But credit to Fulham. And a rude awakening to a new season for Liverpool.

Sorry what other strange results were there? It’s the p. poor application from the players, had about 4 or 5 of these games last year and it’s just carried on straight into this year.

That was the worst PL performance under Klopp since the days of Mignolet, Allen, Skrtel and Lovren.

Tactics and personnel wasn’t even the real issue. The attitude stank from start to finish. Only Diaz and subs Darwin and Milly can honestly say they turned up yesterday.

That was a shambles yesterday! Take nottin from Fulham felt like a loss to them!

JK23 “everyone played well bar Matip”? What game were you watching. The entire back four was poor. The midfield was the worst I’ve seen them play and Bobby is confirmation he’s no longer a starter. We improved second half and whilst people say don’t overreact, in a league where fine margins are now everything, that will feel like a loss in many respects.

Yes, JK23. That’s my opinion. As badly as we played we still could have scored 6 based on the actual chances created even tho, we created in chaotic fashion. Several things can be true at the same time.

And no, both CBs were poor all game and same for many others apart for the subs that came on who rescued a point.

Frode I was being sarcastic because if I’m critical it means I can’t use YNWA in a comment and I’m not a proper fan.

The starting team from 1-11 were poor yesterday in their individual performances and then collectively as a team.

In the 2nd half Salah improved, Milner worked his socks off and gave us more energy, Elliot was decent and Nunez had a very good debut where regardless If he meant it or not he got an assist and a great debut goal.

Yesterday was one of the worst performances under Klopp in about 4 years but the beauty is those same players have produced hundreds off good-great performances over the same time.

Let’s call a spade a spade and say we were crap yesterday but next Monday and every other game is a different day.

We’ve got 9 injuries so the players that let themselves down yesterday will more than likely get the opportunity to go again next week.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Matip, a midfielder (probably Thiago due to injury) and Bobby drop out of the next starting line up to change things up against Palace.

Klopp was quite scathing of the side yesterday so perhaps he should pipe down.

City lost the first game last season. No one was writing an obituary for them. Our team has a winning mentality so they will bounce back. However, our fans continue to live in a state of desperation. Do you guys expect us to win all games? We were terrible yesterday and still got a point. I see it as a positive.

It's an absolute disgrace that we didn't relegate Fulham in their first game.

Everyone was absolutely sh@t from Alisson to Bobby.
Fulham will finish rock bottom.
Milner, Nunez deserve to start vs Palace.

The performance was so bad that it almost becomes a positive. It is inconceivable that we will play worse than that against Palace, surely the only way is up?

Every single player that started that game was dreadful, and dreadful in such a variety of ways. Passing, decision making, awareness, physicality, composure, balance, bravery, every single attribute you would normally associate with our team was completely absent.

It was so bad that I can only assume that the team were simply not ready from pre season. That is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it means I don’t think the issues are deep rooted problems within the squad and we will probably be fine in a week or two.

On the other hand, i’m a little worried that Klopp and his staff have got pre season wrong. I can say with confidence that we are now in the midst of an injury crisis before the season has even started. Players are dropping left and right and it doesn’t look promising. I’m not too fussed about the Thiago injury because i want to see what Elliott, Carvalho and especially Jones can do, but that’s no good if Jones is injured again!

Whatever the case, I can guarantee you a new shiny midfielder would not have made an ounce of difference in that team. Would any new midfielder have started over Thiago, Fabinho or Hendo anyway? No. We drew because we were awful from front to back.

I’m hoping this can give the boys a kick up the backside for this season, as sometimes that is what you need, but I am concerned about the health of the squad in the longer term. Injuries have killed us the last two seasons, I really don’t want that to happen again.

We were very poor yesterday, horrendous in fact. And I'm certainly not one to get carried away or blow up about the first game of the season. But I remember the feeling walking out of anfield on the last day of the season having lost the league by a point, again, having lost less games than city in the whole campaign, again. Draws are killing us each year and while it's the first or last game throwing away point against the likes of Fulham who city will wipe the floor with, can cost us dearly at the end.

Milner Carrys on like that and he might be playing more than expected this season.
Pretty much everyone including klopp got/ did things wrong.
Let's hope we're more at the races for Palace.

Hey Frode. If the standard of football on display was so poor yesterday you could always switch off and watch the England women’s team instead?

exactly Salah. wonder what this lot will be saying in May when we win the title. I believe it and am not worried. I get where. people are concerned about the midfield, but we have talent and we have a great recruiting team.
